This hotel was absolutely filthy. Not just stained carpet and moldy peeling wallpaper and paint, but actual grime and dirt in the bathroom, etc. terrible mattress. Lumpy pillows.

Hotel was nice for a 100 year old historic property. It is NOT updated to current times hotel standards so staying there you do so for the historic nature. Rooms were clean but very dated & could use simple maintenance items done (ex: fixing messed up electrical sockets, holes in walls barely patched). We had king bedroom & bathroom was EXTREMELY small w/pedal sink & could barely move in it & no room for toiletries, etc.; however, our friends King room next door to us had much bigger bath w/area w/counter space to put toiletries, etc. Hotel lobby played great music Fri/Sat evenings with great crowds. All staff interacted with provided great friendly service. Parking can get discounted to $12/night at front desk (didn't realize cost when booked property). Good location easy to walk to restaurants/shops/bathhouses/etc. Food in hotel dining room was very good & reasonably priced. Enjoyed staying as was on our bucket list but likely would stay at another hotel w/more modern amenities in future.

I was looking forward to staying at The Arlington, but ended up very disappointed. They are working on renovation but this place needs more than several coats of pain and new carpet. Our room was on the 7th floor and I don’t think there were occupied. I’m learning that the rooms blocked out for Expedia are not the best rooms. Bathroom fixtures were old and rusty. We had instructions for how to turn the heater on, which you had to select Air Conditioner to turn on the heat. If rooms are not properly equipped than they should not rent those rooms out. When my husband took a shower he had a hard time balancing the water temp and turning off the water was just as confusing, additionally there was standing water in the tub due to slow draining. I would have to say my biggest disappointment was they no longer have Spring water pumped into certain rooms as advertised.
