Once used as a wartime ‘listening post’, it sleeps ten people across five bedrooms, and is ideal for large families or groups of friends who are searching for a spacious, history-infused retreat to call home while they explore the North Norfolk coast together. Wake up and set off for Old Hunstanton’s wide sandy beach (0.5 miles), where rolling dunes and a row of colourful beach huts make for the perfect morning stroll. Head to Hunstanton Golf Club (0.5 miles) for a round of golf, spend a peaceful afternoon birdwatching at the RSPB’s Titchwell Marsh (5.5 miles), or stop to smell the flowers at Norfolk Lavender (3 miles), England’s premier lavender farm.

Step inside the hallway, where doors to your right lead off to the dining room, kitchen and lounge, and doors to your left lead to a snug, two bedrooms, a family bathroom and a utility room. Cook up a storm in the chic kitchen and host a stylish dinner at the dining table. Afterwards, settle in by the open fire in the lounge, or retreat to the snug to catch up on your favourite TV shows. When the day is done, retire to one of five fabulous bedrooms. There are three super-king-size rooms (can be made up as twins on request) and two doubles, as well as one shower room, one family bathroom and one en-suite with a shower. In the morning, wake up and take your coffee to the cottage’s wonderful gallery reading room, which is a real treasure. Sip your coffee in this veranda-style retreat while you soak up the views across the Norfolk countryside.

Step outside and you’ll discover an enclosed garden with a veranda and a lawn – the perfect place for a fun BBQ dinner beneath the open sky. Private parking is available for three cars.
