host is nice and offer a bottle of fresh cow milk from his farm. Very tasty. And the house is cozy. only draw back is a little bit far from main road. But it is ok for self driving travel

The door was a little sticky, and I have an advertisement that mentioned a washer and dryer and there wasn't one.
The property was gorgeous, the view was breathtaking, the history of the home is charming. We loved our stay, and would definitely include it in our travels again.
Very secluded and local cottage stay. The house has a lot of character, some areas need some updates. The grounds are beautiful and I could spend days on them looking over to the water. Fresh milk was delicious, is from the owners farm next door. The house has history, the property was built in the early 1900s!

A fantastic view and location. Property had everything you needed but don't expect 5 star.
What a great experience to stay in this guesthouse. Its very quiet and peaceful. We loved the house and it was wonderful to sit at the dining room table and look out at the bay.
Great management. Gentlemen went out of his way to make everything perfect. Had trouble with WiFi and he didn’t give up till it was resolved. Clean and in good condition.
The cottage is being kept at a mint condition with easy access from the main ring road. The cottage is well equipped with more than enough amenities and ingredients for us to make a satisfying meal. Love the shampoo and conditioner which is from Soley, they smell absolutely amazing.
Superbe guest house Bessastadir. One of the best stay during our trip around Iceland. We could have spent more days at the house. Stunning surroundings and easy to find and get the key. I will certainly return to this place
A quaint farmhouse with an incredible view and a lot of history. We loved sitting at the dining table and enjoying the fresh farm milk.

If you are looking for an authentic Icelandic home experience, this is your place. It's in a nice, secluded area that is at the end of a long gravel road with lots of sheep to navigate. There are all the amenities of home including a well-stocked kitchen (with fresh milk from the farm), DVDs, and a BBQ. Be warned though, the hot water is malodorous (not unusual for the area) and the towel warmer does not work.
This was a cozy guesthouse close to the water- we had such a relaxing stay! The directions and check in instructions were very easy and we had fun walking along the property.
Beautiful location and we had a very nice stay near the beach. Location is easier to find than we originally expected. it was a good stopover point on our trip around the ring road.
The beach was nice, but we couldn't figure out how we were supposed to get there and took a very long path. There was a handbook that said it was ok to walk the grounds, but the only map directly states where NOT to go because of the fields, not a good walking path on where to go.
Kitchen was well equipped, but the items in it (i.e. pans) were very old and scratched up so we didn't want to use them.
About 8 minutes from the main road (you may need a 4x4 in the winter as the snow may get slippery). They give give a bottle of milk from their farm cows which is absolutely delicious! There’s four beds downstairs set with toys for children, tv with dvds in a living room that’s so snuggling. The kitchen is stacked with everything one would need to cook whatever they desired, coffee is provided as well, and the bathroom is aquatinted with standard amenities.
Our family enjoyed with this home as if it were our own, we forgot about all troubles we had. Originally planned to stay for one night so that we could drive to the West Fjords and to Akureyri but we fell in love so deeply that we ended up staying at Bessastadir for three nights to explore the fields and walking by the waters, very romantic for my wife and I. We managed to go see the horses and cows, the owners invited us out of respect which was kind. We named the newest born calf “Trixy”! All-in-all the best experience we’ve had in a guesthouse ever.
