I mainly used this hotel as a one night stop off on the way to and back from the North. It is very comfortable, warm and modern. Food is very good especially for this type of transient hotel. What really stands out is how amazingly helpful and friendly the staff are, they clearly recruit to a very high standard.

Great location for travelling around the ring road. The room was fine with a nice big wet room shower room. The breakfast was fine too. We had a room in the annex building and it was quiet.

A nice stay in the middle of nowhere

It’s a nice stay - just in the middle of no where with nothing to do. There are swings and a basketball court. Swings were hovering over a 1 ft deep puddle but kids still gave it a whirl. It was insanely windy so shooting hoops was out of the question. It would be great if there were more amenities on site to enjoy during bad weather. We overnighted when there were very few guests. It was actually creepy - like in the movies as it was silent but once a few more cars arrived after dinner it felt way better. Just a massive hotel for off season. Maybe they should play background music in their lobby to cut the eerie silence.

The service that me and my colleagues received by staff-member Gyða and restaurant Chef Rúnar Þór was out of this world... we arrived late at night but Gyða had asked the Chef to keep the kitchen open and we got a fantastic meal upon arrival. All the dishes we tried were excellent, and the seafood soup was extraordinary!

Our stay at Hotel Laugarbakki was an absolute delight from start to finish! The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Iceland’s stunning landscape, offering a peaceful and serene escape. What made this experience even more exceptional, however, was the warm and welcoming staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They were not only attentive and professional but also incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The food at the hotel was nothing short of amazing. Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, prepared with fresh, local ingredients that truly showcased the flavors of Iceland.
