Poor Customer Service

The stay was adequate enough but upon checkout, we thought the amount seemed higher than what we thought - mentioned to the person at the front desk that it was booked through Hotel.com and they said- “yes and you pay here” so I paid the amount and then checked my booking which was 43.00 less. The booking had all of our details and provided a total amount (taxes included), which was 276.76. The hotel charged more 319.44. Truthfully we would have stayed at a different place. I am sorry but this was not an over 300.00 a night stay, it just wasn’t. So before you pay here, make sure you check your booking and DO NOT pay if it is more. I was told that the hotel would not issue a refund in the amount that was overcharged. This is terrible customer service on the hotel and hotel.com. This is false advertising.

Good - Old fashioned, quiet country hotel with amazing views over the Gulf of St Lawrence, excellent choice of breakfast foods with plenty of healthy options and lovely room. Only slight downside was the restaurant is not open this season which meant going back out when I would have preferred staying in after a long day of driving.

Awesome views. The people working are very friendly. The room may not be as modern as most hotels but that's what gives this place its charm. Would definitely stay here again!

I had booked two rooms for 4 adults, and the reservation showed just one room. Two of us were put in a dirty basement room with stained sheets. The other room wasn’t much better. The main area was decent, the staff were great, and the breakfast was great, but the rest was rather dismal.

Great place to stay for exploring the eastern portion of Cape Breton National Park. Kim (part owner) is a great host snd made us feel very welcomed. We stayed in room #6 which is upstairs (no elevator on premise) and faces the back (not ocean view). The room is pretty standard. Decor is outdated but very clean. The included buffet breakfast has a variety of breads, yogurts, cold cuts and hot dishes like sausages and scrambled eggs. Overall we had a great experience at Castle Rock Country Inn.

This is a beautiful property, and conveniently located to everything the Ingonish area had to offer. The views at breakfast were stunning and inn staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

The super nice lady that checked us in was amazing. She was so friendly and accommodating. She grew up in the area and was able to give us a lot of information. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. There was plenty of socializing space down stairs with a television and large couch. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Lots to choose from and the owner of the Inn, she was very friendly. Would stay there again!
