A nice hotel with excellent facilities & staff. 2 mile walk into Ipswich, not too strenuous also, nature reserve was a pleasant experience. The room was a good size if a little tired and needed door mats to the front and rear entrances

Came home from along day only to have a stink in my room from drain i expect and went down to complain but no one was at desk so just left it the Tv remote worked when it wanted and picture quality was poor door handle in bathroom was broken so couldn’t close the door in case being locked in

The swimming pool at this place is always fabulous . Warm and welcoming . The garden rooms have good decor . Ergonomics in bathroom not fabulous . Glass shower screen fixed so have to climb in bath to reach taps . Hand basin tap not easy to fill kettle . Needs net curtains in room , twin beds hard but easy parking opposite rooms .

This staycation was brilliant. The check in service at the front desk was excellent. I enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The only thing that spoilt it for me was the attitude of one of the staff at breakfast. We provided our room details and were shown to the buffet. I started helping myself the same staff who had been at the restaurant entrance along with her colleague, came asked me my room details. It wasn’t that she asked that was the problem, it was how she asked; I felt like I was being accused and that really bothered me, as if I would just waltz in from the street and start helping myself to the buffet. I wasn’t happy with that.

Avoid unless it is free

It isnt cheap and i dont think you get any value for your money. The food in the restaurant is good and the chef is the only highlight. Staff are slow and you wait a long time. The bar is like a low key pub. The property is in need of repair, roof tiles missing, windows are desperately needing painting. The inside of most of the hotel has been clad with that horrible plastic and made to look modern unfortunately it doesnt and most the plastic is dented and poorly fitted. In the room the colours are drab and the bathrooms are also covered in the plastic tile affect rubbish. Our shower head was flopping around on a broken bracket and the wall fixings were hanging off. Also on the second night of staying the shower drain was dry and a fould sewege stench came up into the room for hours. I had the leave the shower trickling to keep the drain filled so no back draft into the room. On notifying the staff they didnt care and gave me a slip with an email on it and told me to basically tell someone who cares. For the money i spent they dont deserve a review of any positivity. Avoid room 405. The pool is ok though.

Nice hotel , great staff.

Friendly helpful staff in restaurant & bar . Food is lovely . Garden room.spacious but matress needs replacing as you could feel the springs poking out . Wine prices in bar are far to high . Cheapest wine is £26 a bottle for mediocre wine . Overall s nice stay ..
