LOCATION, LOCATION!! This beautiful craftsman cottage is the perfect mountain getaway, ideally located close to Big Canoe amenities. It’s family-friendly and perfect for couples' weekends or groups, offering easy access to lakes, restaurants, golf, tennis, ball fields, the chapel, the Swim Club, and hiking trails. A beautiful trail runs just behind the home.

Living Space
This modern, spacious property combines rustic comfort and style with double-height ceilings that fill the space with warm natural light. The main living room features a cozy stacked stone fireplace, comfortable furniture, and a wall of glass showcasing beautiful mountain vistas. The open-plan space is perfect for relaxing and socializing.

Kitchen & Dining
The well-equipped kitchen allows you to prepare group meals while enjoying the fun. The dining table seats six, with additional seating for three at a counter table. Off the dining area, a screened porch with a sitting area and TV, and an outdoor deck for grilling, provide perfect spots for gathering.

Beds & Bathrooms
The primary bedroom on the main level has a king bed and ensuite bathroom. Upstairs, a second bedroom with a queen bed and a relaxation loft await. The terrace level features two additional bedrooms (one with bunk beds and one with a king bed), a second living room with futon sofas, games, and a TV. The lodge boasts upscale linens and a coffee maker, offering a cozy yet spacious retreat for guests.

Overall very good!

The house is super cute and has everything you need. The staff is awesome and very friendly. Overall it was great. My only complaint would be the house was clean, but looked like it had set empty for a while. There was so much dust and several spiderweb and TONS of little dead bugs. I know it the mountains and this happens, but it was several. We have to clean the floors and wipes all the bugs up bc we have little ones who crawl and put everything in their mouths!

Great property - enjoyed thoroughly, particularly the deck on nice fall days/evenings. Kitchen supplies (pots/pans/utensils could be improved. Contacting the team for check in was more difficult than needed, particularly given poor cell service in the area.

Needed more information especially about the steep driveway.

The house is very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was that the driveway was so steep that it was very difficult and almost impossible for us to get in and out as I am handicapped. It should be noted in the write up of the property. But the management company was very helpful in all ways and we appreciated that very much.

Great house, lovely community

We had a wonderful smeary at this property. The property managers were very responsive and easy to work with. The house was clean and just as described. It was very cold when we were there and the management company brought by an extra propane tank for the outdoor heaters so we didn’t have to worry about running out. TVs were smart TVs that allowed us to login to our streaming accounts and the kids to watch Disney+ and Netflix in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen utensils, bowls, knives, cookie sheets, pans. The beds and sofas/chairs were comfortable. We loved big canoe. Took the kids to the indoor pool for a swim and they had a blast getting to swim during the winter. We also hiked the lower falls trail which was just about two miles total and very doable for the two 5yo on our trip. I would highly recommend renting in big canoe and this hose was just perfect for two families with kids.

Xmas in Big Canoe

Big Canoe is a very beautiful place. However, it's far from everything. There is a nearby supermarket and a couple good restaurants. But if you want a Publix or Walmart it's a 35+ minute drive. And if you are not a fan of driving in mountains I wouldn't recommend. If you are looking for a quiet secluded beautifully kept area than Big Canoe is your place. We would like to try it one time in hotter weather to try all the outdoor activities. The house was beautiful and comfortable except for there is a hot water issue (it runs out very quickly) The management is very responsive and resolved any issues we had.
