The house was great for our extended family but we have a few suggestions for improvement. The kitchen needed more utensils - wooden spoons, graters, a whisk for starters. Some of the lights did not work, the master bedroom had no closet space. We were pleased with the six bathrooms and bedrooms as advertised. The view from the kitchen, living room and deck was terrific and the teenagers really enjoyed the dock and crabbing. The railing around the deck was questionable, it seemed a little loose in some areas. Overall we had a great holiday in East Sooke.

Beautiful location! Cleanliness of the house was not great and couple of the couches/chairs were broken. Incredible deck and well stocked for large groups, overall we had a great time!

Family get away

Beautiful location, large house with plenty of space perfect for large group. No house instructions for help with heating or wifi. Kitchen is missing some essentials such as a can opener or a decent cutting knife.

Ocean View House Experience

Good - Acceptable state of deck, chairs, and tables; BBQ - Good appliances - less the MW missing part - Plenty of dinnerware, pans, pots, cutleries - beds and sheets - hot water was not an issue for 10 people Considered not acceptable - host did not mention the cameras recording on the deck and did not ask for permission to use them while we were there - host did not clarify about the rooms and beds that actually two bedrooms were grouped in one unit with one bathroom and could be used only by a family with kids - totally unacceptable to provide just one very thin bath towel per person and no hand or face towels at all - the bathroom from the kitchen area is actually also a laundry room, repository area for cleaning items - plus the shower is leaking onto the floor - the kitchen stuff is spread over some drawers in an unorganized manner that requires opening empty ones which were dirty giving an unpleasant sense of a not clean place - the MW had a bad fitting part under the plate - making it useless - the rented area in the basement was very worn down and had lots of renovating stuff spread around - the light on the deck were mostly not functioning - the house in general requires better cleaning and repairs - the driveway to the house has two big potholes. it is possible to parc up when entering the lot, but it is still needed to load and unload closer to the house

Disappointed

The size of home and location matched the description. Unfortunately the home was not clean, especially the kitchen. Bathroom areas (the drain for jacuzzi doesn’t work, has to be pried open), dirty windows, some safety issues and the list goes on. Unfortunately the owner was not supportive of our concerns and stated it’s a big house so no time to clean it all. If we want clean we should stay in five star hotel. Fortunately our family made the best of it and we cleaned and carried on with our Celebration of Life.

Gorgeous Setting

The property is incredible! Absolutely gorgeous deck. The kitchen is well equipped as well. Not enough towels for our entire party. That was the only problem, but other than that it was a great experience.

This place us fantastic

This is a truly wonderful property, access to the dock meant my kids got to go crabbing and to see harbor seals and sea otters close up. Our vacation ended up giving my kids memories of a lifetime. The property owner was very responsive, even through multiple follow up messages.

Beautiful property! Huge house.

Had a fun time, very responsive and thoughtful hosts. The house has lots of rooms and bathrooms. There is some renovation going on and some issues with appliances but the host was super responsive and helpful. The driveway was an issue. If you don’t have all wheel drive getting up it when rainy is very difficult.

Tranquil

Very large house with fully stocked kitchen set up for large groups. We had 12 but easily could have accommodated more with privacy for all. Large deck and dining areas, on the waterfront with access down to the water. It is 45min or so from larger stores on paved winding coastal roads Found a beach for the little ones 10 minutes away, and family of sea otters right below the house.
