We call this condo Lani Ohana Hale. Lani means Heavenly, Ohana means Family, and Hale means Home. This is a perfect family vacation home! Maui Sands is a lovely property that epitomizes that 'Old School' Hawaiian feel. We have beautiful grounds with mango, banana and a myriad of tropical plants and flowers blooming. The property is low density with 52 units sitting on a little under 3 acres, with a shared pool.
The real gem of the property is the Pacific Ocean View. We sit on a stretch of oceanfront facing the Island of Lana'i just to the south, and Moloka'i across the channel for one of the more spectacular sunset views on the island of Maui.
Our shore has three volcanic reefs running parallel to the shoreline, providing a mini snorkeling/swimming channel 4-7' deep, perfect for viewing our parade of turtle up close! The inside of the 1st reef is perfect for smaller kids to build sandcastles at low tide, and play in the water, as the reefs serve to protect our narrow stretch of sand from the rougher high tide surf.
A short 3 minute walk to the north brings you to Honokawai Beach Park, with a playground. To the south is the Honolua Kai Park and a fabulous beach walk going all the way to Whalers Village and Black Rock.
Ohana Paradise Hale at Maui Sands has two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, and the other with two twins. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep the cool evening breezes moving. There is a queen size sofa sleeper, with a NEW mattress and pullout mechanism in the living area as well with an overhead fan for comfort. One of the best things about being this close to the ocean is being able to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves.
The kitchen has been beautifully refurbished with cherry cabinets and granite tile. It is fully loaded to cook a holiday meal or provide snacks through the day. There is seating in the dining area and on the lanai for meals and enjoying the view.
This condo has hot water on demand, very convenient for larger families and groups!
The split AC system has individual units in the bedrooms and the living room, each with their own control.
The large lanai runs the full length of the condo for both ocean and garden views!
Please note, this is a second floor unit in a 2 story building. If you are booking with children, we require "indoor feet" from all our guests, no matter their age. :)
