All great, reception staff very welcoming, however, when I went back to inform them that there were no robes, iron & ironing board and yoga kit one receptionist was quite frosty - eventually all placed in room, though only 1 robe.
Bar staff were very friendly, dining room had no availability so ate in bar. Second night there was a large coach party in, we found it easier & quicker to order via the table app. Food was good & well presented.
Didn't use pool as much smaller than photos seem to suggest.
Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice.
A great hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar looking out on the esplanade was awesome. Food was great and the recommendations from the bar staff to try some local wines was much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Access to beach fantastic but they parked a coach right in front of the restaurant to block the view. Thoughtless of the coach driver.
Great small outdoor pool.
Good location for a night driving from Christchurch to Nelson. Scenery of coastline absolutely stunning. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Excellent breakfast at the hotel.
Second time staying here and was disappointed with certain aspects from the first time. As a former publican I would not employ certain bar staff from this hotel. Ordered a drink at the bar and waited for my drinks then noticed the person who took my order was serving someone else further along the bar, only assume he could not mix the drinks I had asked for and went to serve someone else, very rude. When you are paying top price for drink you expect top service. Apart from this the staff were very good and helpful, especially at reception.
My only disappointment was the service by the staff in the restaurant & bar. I went down to order a coffee and felt ignored. After 3 different staff were involved I finally did get my drink.
Hotel has such bad ventilation that you get waken up at 6:15 by kitchen smells, burning your nose. The staff who were on duty couldn't do anything other than 'reporting to manager', and the manager of the day was very rude and unapologic. Stay here at your own risk!
