The front desk seemed just OK. The room had several problems: 1) The caulk was worn in the shower and water would flood the bathroom and adjacent closet. Noatter how carefully you showered. 2) The TV volume would not go down beyond level 10. It was never fixed, although they tries several times. 3) Bathroom faucet dripped. 4) Difficult to get the room serviced. 5) One elevator of two, by the lobby never worked. Main elevator to pool or beach, worked sporadically and was used quite a bit by housekeeping. So we had to climb stairs to the 4th floor. 6) Was woken up on Sunday at 7:30 AM by incredibly loud powerwashing of the garage. Overall, maintenance was not good at The Reach. The beach attendants and the server on the beach were AWESOME! A little pet peeve, but sand carving by beach was done for a company that was having a convention there. The Hilton property next door had both a sand sculpture for the guests and a sponsored one for a company. At $1200/ night I think we could rate a sand carving! Went to the Hilton sister property next door, because they had more activities and entertainment. But the beach at the Reach was much better than the sister property.

Had high expectations for this hotel and paid a LOT of money for two nights after all the extra fees. The grounds are beautiful and they have a lot of amenities. The location was excellent. But wasn't very impressed with our room. We were stuck in the back corner on the 4th floor, and it seemed like a mile of weaving back and forth to walk to it... especially sucked every time our dog needed to go out. Our balcony was small and felt like a cage even though the description mentioned "oversized balcony." Also the "ocean view" was pretty far away and looked over a parking lot with the ocean in the background.

The room was not ready when we arrived for check-in shortly after 4pm, and we were sent out for a bit. When we did get the room it was not what was reserved and was very unsatisfactory. It was two queens (not a king) and was for persons with disability. There were no rugs for your feet, even around the beds, nowhere to place toiletries, etc. in the bathroom, or hooks to hang things on in the bathroom or elsewhere. Same for the closet - only a low hanger. We stayed the night and were moved the next a.m., when we learned the room was a "castoff" used by the hotel. The logistics within the property were not the best, and areas were quite unattractive, but the location was very good and most of the staff was friendly and helpful.

This property offers the perfect Key West balance: direct beach access for relaxation, while staying just a few blocks from the Southernmost Point and the energy of Duval Street. Our room was excellent, and a major highlight was the 'stay at one, play at two' perk—having access to the additional pools, beach, and dining at the adjoining sister property made the experience feel like a true resort getaway

Check in was not easy. First our room was not available when we checked in at 3 which was fine - check in was 4. We went to the pool, received a text that our room was ready. We went back to the check in desk, it took 40 min to check in as the front desk clerk stated that the text was sent prematurely. She said she would issue a credit for the mix up. No credit was issued. The bar over charged us for drinks during happy hour, ie drinks at happy hour price was $11 - we were charged on 3 occasions $16 each for happy hour.
