OK but could have been better

Overall it was fine but it is an older property that hasn’t been fully updated. The fridge had warmer spots in it. Only 2 beach chairs for 4 people. Only 3 big shower towels for 4 people. Had to call for dish and laundry soap. The local contact was very responsive when we brought these things to their attention.

Great location

The condo had everything we needed for our stay! The welcome package of coffee and goodies and the thank you gift of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and Foodland gift card were nice touches. Loved the location, beach across the street, convenient parking, beach chairs, pool, hot tub, and gas grills. Condo furnishings need updating. The matresses and box springs on the twin beds were uncomfortable; need to be replaced. The bathtub in the master bedroom drained slowly.

Great location but outdated unit

The Maui Banyan is a great property; it’s close to the beach, has ample covered parking, nice pools and grills. This unit is okay but outdated in many ways. The attention to detail is sorely lacking. We arrived late in the evening and found our unit without paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, sponges, or trash bags. We also had two pillows on the main bed without pillowcases. I reached out to the contact email the next morning and was told we should have brought our own linens, however the unit listing includes linens, and making the bed with four pillows but not having two pillowcases on two of them is an oversight. The missing amenities were provided which was appreciated but the oversight was concerning especially considering Covid precautions. The rest of our stay was fine. The appliances are okay, I recommend thoroughly prewashing before putting dishes in the dishwasher because it leaves food or residue. There is not AC in the main sleeping room so plan for fans. Overall the unit is just fine: a good place to store things while exploring or hanging at the beach. The beds are comfortable, the shower and tub have okay water pressure. The beach supplies left have seen a lot of trips to the beach and are showing major wear. I really liked the Maui Banyan property but I would probably look for a different unit in the future.

Maui Banyan is amazing- this unit is not.

I’d like to offer a review for this property. The location was amazing! I would stay at the Maui Banyan again but not this unit. Q203 is a very dated unit that is not well cleaned. The following items need attention: The microwave door doesn’t shut right. The walls and baseboards are filthy. There is no cutting board and the knives are dull. The lawn chairs are very worn and one was completely broken when we arrived. Tennis balls are not helpful without rackets. There are no extra linens. The extra pillows are yellow and dirty. The air conditioner leaks on the lanai and makes the tile slick. The dishwasher doesn’t clean well. The second bathroom light doesn’t work. The there is no light bulb above the sink. There is no working fan in the master bathroom. My husband had to make a couple calls to get the kitchen sink to drain. I haven’t ever had to write a review like this and I do not mean any disrespect and I am not a picky person, but this place needs attention. We loved the Maui Banyan and are planning our next trip for October but will not be booking this particular unit again. Mahalo,

Okay with some complaints

The complex is series of multi story condos, walking along the backside is just a/c unit after a/c unit running so sitting outside is just noisy. The lanai is very short anyway so sitting out to enjoy a morning breakfast isn’t enjoyable. Some general complaints, which might be in all condo rentals, leaving a few amenities in the unit would be nice; cooking oil, mustand, mayo, salt, pepper etc would be nice to avoid paying the premiums at the grocery stores. The dishwasher gave us problems and we had to unplug it on two occasions to get it to work. The a/c unit would cycle on and off ever minute. The hot water heater was only good for one shower so couldn’t take two showers in a row. We had two building inconviences, the elevator was being worked on and the water was shut off for two hours on one day. We were given notice but if we had a need for an elevator we would not have had a recourse. For a condo that could accomadate 4 people it would have been nice to get 4 beach chairs instead of two and a broken 3rd also seating for 4 in the living room would be nice
