Comfortable Irish Holiday Home in Fabulous Kinsale

The house (Neves) is on a hill over looking the Harbour and is quiet and private. It is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Scilly walk right into the heart of historic Kinsale. This holiday home is equipped with a modern kitchen, new appliances and laundry facilities. There are two bright bedrooms and two full bathrooms both with walk in showers. The first bedroom has two queen beds and the bathroom is located just across the hall. The second bedroom has a king size bed with an ensuite bathroom. Relax in the open living and dining area with harbour views and a lovely Sunroom, perfect to enjoy your afternoon tea with a book!

Kinsale is famous for its Harbour and mild climate. The Harbour is ideal for yachting, sea angling, kayaking and dolphin and whale watching trips. There is an amazing Golf course nearby at the Old Head.

Kinsale today is a busy town with both locals and tourists. There are many shops along the quaint narrow streets with unique gifts, crafts, paintings, art galleries, book shops and many lovely Cafes perfect for your morning coffee and cake. Our favorite lunch spot is The Lemon Leaf Café.

Kinsale is the gourmet capital of Ireland. Our favorite restaurants are the Bullman, Man Friday, Fishy Fishy, and many others. We also love the Pink Elephant which is a beautiful 30 minute drive along the coast. It is our favorite for Sunday lunch.

We love to drive along the coast to the Old Head and beautiful quaint towns of Clonakility, Skibbereen and Bantry. Day trips around the Ring of Kerry and the Lakes of Killarney are a must.

Excellent place for a family. A short drive to Kinsale and easy access to Charles Fort. Close access to the Scilly Walk. It has a lovely outside area with a grill that we were unable to use due to the weather. I would have rated higher but we experienced problems with the heat system and hot water. During our week at the property, I know that it worked 1 night but the internal temp ranged 15-17 deg most of the stay. I had a few cold showers before we discovered the emergency heat for the hot water. The property manager offered to send a Plummer to look at the boiler on our last day there but we didn’t want to lose our last day in the area waiting for the repair. The last evening was chilly but they had extra blankets to help us stay warm. The other negative is that there was no outside light. The light on the garage was not working and it was very dark each day we got back due to early sunset, no moon and storms. There are a couple of grocery stores close to get food and supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels as there was limited supply for our trip.

Beautifully appointed and situated in a great location. Clean and orderly. It is obvious the home is well-cared for. It was totally comfortable and we enjoyed coming home after daily excursions. I would recommend Neves in a heartbeat. The neighborhood was quiet and the daily greeting by the three doggies next door was the icing on the cake. Thank you for the attention you have paid to this special place in Kinsale.

Spacious property

This is a clean, comfortable house, situated about 1.5 miles from the centre of Kinsale. It's well appointed with everything you would need in a vacation rental. As the owner states, your own transport is essential. We found some difficulty with getting a taxi from Kinsale once it goes beyond 8 - 9 o'clock in the evening. The Bulman gastropub is well worth a visit, only 5 minutes by car. You need to be in good shape to manage the hills around the property if you're walking!

A beautiful base

We really loved our stay in this house. It is decorated beautifully and feels so homely and comfortable - it truly is a home away from home. We explored Kinsale from here but also took advantage of all the great tips and recommendations given to us by the owner and property managers (their friends) including the day trip to Glandore which was stunning, and the other restaurants too. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable home to stay in.

Perfect

Neves was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of space, we’ll equipped and very comfortable beds! The view was lovely and it was an easy walk to the Bulman pub one way 5 mins) and Kinsale Centre the other way (10 to 15 mins) as long as you don’t mind a couple of steeper sections. The property owner responded to any questions very quickly. Would recommend

Such a lovely home in a great location!

Neve's Cottage was the perfect rental for us. It was a private location, but within walking distance to pubs and spectacular views. The caretaker, Sam, was very responsive when we had questions, but gave us our space and privacy. The home was so lovely and bright and relaxing that we spent a lot of our time just hanging out there. We love Kinsale and will definitely come back to Neve's!

The Perfect Home!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely home. Every room is comfortable and equipped with everything one would need. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and yet close enough to the village to walk to. We have already reserved it again for next year and highly recommend it as a first class home. (My wife tells me I shouldn't review it so highly as it might make it more difficult for us to rent in the future!) But it is true the place is lovely!!

The great south

Neves was like a home from home. It had everything you could wish for and more. It felt like you were living in a family home you've known for a long time. Communication with the owner and caretaker was excellent friendly and informative. We would have no hesitation in recommending Neves to family and friends as a place to chill out and enjoy a relaxing break with its great location and well equipped property.

Super location and place to stay

A first time in Kinsale and we were delighted with the location and property. High up with magnificent panoramic views of sea/river and surrounding countryside, tucked quietly away yet easily accessible by foot or car to/from Kinsale. The very pretty Scilly walk along the river is a few minutes by foot, excellent local pubs/eating places east and west of it, supermarkets nearby and great accessibility for day trips further afield. Pretty local beaches and coves nearby, (do buy an OS map for these), and plenty to explore. The house is flooded with natural light, roomy and extremely comfortable. Excellent communications from the owner and housekeepers from the point of booking until departure. It was a nice and helpful touch to receive the housekeepers text on our departure from the Ferry with tips and helpful advice for our drive to the house. Not intrusive in any way but all information you could need was provided and any queries answered without delay. Local knowledge on a range of eating places was readily given and very useful too. By chance we were there during the sailing regatta and as sailors ourselves, it was a joy to watch these competing yachts from the house as well as closer by. As extensive travellers, we have to say that this trip and stay will be remembered as one of the nicest, most enjoyable and restful breaks we've had the great fortune and pleasure to experience. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Kinsale and to Neves.

Perfect Stay

Luxury in Kinsale

We loved our stay at Neve's - the property is beautiful and really spacious, and the beds were very comfy. The kids each had a double bed in a large bedroom, which worked well. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and the bbq outside was an extra bonus which we used a couple of times. The house sits in an estate with a big green space, where the kids could play soccer and run around. There is an ocean view as well, and you can walk down to the Bulman pub in about 5-7 minutes or head to the Scilly Walk which takes you into Kinsale proper along the shore and is a pretty walk. The property managers Sam and Mandy were lovely as well and answered all our questions. We had a wonderful time, thank you!

Lovely views in a well appointed home,the caretaker's Sam and Mandy were a wealth of knowledge and very helpful, this property is a gem and lacks nothing a must stay when in Kinsale,the bed in the master suite was probably the best I ever slept on,this home was truly functional and beautifully decorated, the outdoor patio with views to die for, great way to relax at the end of the day or start your day with breakfast overlooking the bay,I absolutely would recommend this property, Penny thank you for sharing your family home and a seamless transaction

Completely perfect

We, 2 couples from Germany, was there for 9 nights in June 2018. The house is perfect, both the sleeping rooms and living room. The kitchen is well equipped. We had 9 full sunny days, so we used the terrace a lot. The next pub, The Bulman, is just a 5 min walk away - great. The walk down to Kinsale last 15 min, no problems at all. The house surrounding is quite, you can relax. The contact to the property manager at Kinsale was easy, friendly and we got good tips. If we will stay in Ireland again, we will get back to Kinsale/Neves! (Sry for mistakes, i'm not a native english speaker ;-) )

"Neves", Kinsale Ireland

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath, single level home is perfect in every way. Proximity to Kinsale city center is excellent, the views from the home are outstanding, and the beds/furnishings are very comfortable. Amanda and Sam, the property managers, are very kind and attentive...They are easily reachable if there is anything at all that you need. I would highly recommend this home as a perfect place to stay when exploring the charming town of Kinsale and the many villages in southwest Ireland!
