The cabin very much smelled of drains when we first arrived. Not a great first impression. Something to do with the shower not having been used since the cleaners had been in. It got better, but took a while. Sauna rest areas were freezing cold, with the stove having been removed from the big sauna.

If you are looking to be close to nature in an active vacation, this is your place to be. We went in Dec 2025. It was gorgeous to have snow at your doorstep (literally), a frozen lake 2 min walk and forest about 5 min walk away! It was a joy to have the ability for the kids to get into their snowsuit and play outside whilst the adults prepared for the day. It was a comfortable cabin. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and accommodating. All the activities started from the camp, so we did not need to travel far. Book the activities in advance as they sell out. We did all the activities offered and wouldn’t skip a single one if we were to do it again. We missed having a shop/ restaurant onsite. However, Kiruna was just a 15 min drive away. Coop in old Kiruna is very large and lacks nothing (including ready made meals)! If you can, keep a day for Kiruna and visit the mine. If you are looking for a luxurious cabin, this isn’t for you. We barely spent anytime in the cabin. Thank you Pranav, Alex, Vani, Nico, Luca, Andrea, Hans, and everyone else we have missed out. It was a spectacular vacation and we have come back with very fond memories. Will definitely recommend Camp Alta.
