Perched on the rim of the iconic Tower Hill extinct volcano, Craterview Eco Apartment offers a rare blend of privacy, comfort, and breathtaking natural beauty. From your balcony, take in sweeping views across the crater and out to the Southern Ocean, with Port Fairy glowing on the horizon and wildlife wandering quietly past.

This is luxury that feels grounded — thoughtful, sustainable, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

A private, self-contained retreat

Craterview is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, self-contained hempcrete apartment, designed for year-round comfort. With a generous living area, kitchenette, and a large covered balcony, it’s a space made for slowing down and settling in.  Each bedroom can have either a king size bed in it or two single beds.  Please let us know your preferred bedding option when booking.

Although the apartment is joined to our home, it is entirely private, with its own entrance and separate access. Inside, you’ll find contemporary finishes, excellent insulation, and a calm, understated elegance that reflects the landscape outside.

Step onto the balcony at sunset, glass in hand, and watch the colours change across the reserve and Port Fairy as the sky softens over the sea.

Built with purpose, designed for comfort

Craterview was completed in 2024, the realisation of our long-held dream to build a sustainable home that would endure for generations. We chose hempcrete construction for its exceptional environmental credentials — including high thermal mass, natural insulation, fire resistance, and longevity.

The result is an apartment that stays comfortable in every season while treading lightly on the land it occupies.

We know how important it is to feel welcomed when you arrive somewhere new. To make your first morning special, we provide a complimentary breakfast, including:

Fresh eggs from our chickens

Homemade sourdough bread, jams and marmalade

Seasonal fruit, vegetables, and flowers from our garden (when available)

Guests are warmly invited to enjoy the garden, meet our friendly dog Dot, chat to the chooks, or enjoy a quiet coffee at the table and chairs in the garden bed outside your bedroom windows.

Craterview sits on the southern edge of Koroit, offering the best of both worlds — immediate access to nature and easy connection to the region’s most loved towns.

Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve is directly across the road, with walking access points nearby and the main crater entrance just 3.5km away

Killarney Beach is only 10 minutes away — a stunning, uncrowded stretch of white sand with sheltered swimming bays formed by ancient lava flows

Port Fairy and Warrnambool are both just 15 minutes’ drive, offering beaches, restaurants, festivals, hot springs, shopping, and coastal walks

Koroit itself is rich in Irish heritage and home to favourites such as Mickey Bourke’s Pub, Noodledoof Brewery, Stonefield Lane Wine Bar, and excellent local dining.
