We really enjoyed our stay at Cross Hotel! The room was spacious and well organized, the staff was attentive and friendly, and it was located in the perfect place for subway access or walking to other sectors.

I could not have been happier with our stay. Hotel was very pretty and the location was genuinely perfect…a quick walk over to Gion, right by the Kamo River, a block away from terrific shopping, close to Nishiki. Just outside is a beautiful canal with cherry blossoms(when in bloom). If you want the traditional Kyoto, it’s right there, the modern Kyoto, right there as well. Staff took care of all our needs. Of the four hotels we stayed at, this was one of the lesser ones in terms of warmness of the staff, but they were hyper competent, which made up for anything in that department.

The hotel staff were polite and kind. The room was clean and equipped with heating, air conditioning, and a humidifier, making it comfortable even in winter. Located in the heart of the downtown area, it's very convenient with restaurants and convenience stores nearby.

Amenities are not great- no lotion at all which was odd. Staff overall not very helpful- would not assist with ordering a can for us and check in, which was supposed to be self service took over 20 minutes. That being said, the location is terrific so that makes up for a lot.

We booked 2 Superior Twin Rooms. The rooms were quite clean, the bathroom was very nice, and the hotel provided water bottles on the first day. The hotel has a great location if you are planning to spend a lot of time near Sanjo-dori and Shinkyogoku Shopping Street (within walking distance). There's plenty to do in this area with a number of great restaurants (including halal ones!).
