I’d describe Kokonoe Machiya as a truly wonderful place to stay in Kyoto. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and the host created an atmosphere that felt genuinely warm and welcoming, almost like being at home. What made the experience especially unique was the beautiful blend of Italian and Japanese hospitality, which gave the stay a personal and memorable touch. The location is another major strength. The property is set in a quiet, local neighborhood, allowing guests to experience a more authentic side of Kyoto while staying far from the tourist crowds. It is the perfect choice for anyone looking for peace, character, and a more intimate connection with the city. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kokonoe Machiya to anyone visiting Kyoto. It was a beautiful and memorable stay.
