The rooms were very small and dirty. There aren’t that many restaurants in the area either, so you’d need to walk 20 min minimum to get anything decent.

The exquisite design of this hotel was one of the main points that drew me in. Walking in felt like entering into a living museum mixed with a Japanese arboretum. The low lighting, mixture of wood, and showcasing the textile industry Kyoto is so famous for in their details made being here feel like an experience. It felt fancy without being boisterous. Like class was naturally coming from the design instead of pushed onto you. The staff were kind and answered questions in both Japanese and English. They have you check in utilizing their touchscreens at the front desk. This is becoming more common in Japan now. Luckily, if you have any questions the staff are there to assist in any way. Walking into your room you’ll see the size is fair. We got the traditional room with a queen size bed and though everything was comfortable the space definitely was confined when it comes to having multiple suitcases. Otherwise, the space is comfortable and a great way to relax between excursions. The dining area is beautifully designed, and in the evenings they have a small sample of refreshments free to enjoy, including sake. For breakfast they showcase their local cuisine quite well with ingredients. However, the biggest thing I have against their breakfast is there is a lack of variety. Great local dishes and quality ingredients, but not too many kinds of food. Because of this, maybe don't get breakfast included with your stay. All in all, loved staying here. Would come back again.

The staff were excellent and very courteous. The lounge is very comfortable and the complimentary beverages and snacks were great. The Japanese breakfast is a must! They have much variety of different foods. Located close to Gojo Station, which connects to Kyoto station. There is a Family Mart and Lawson up the main street, and also a grocery store called Fresco. However, if you are looking for a lively night area, this location is in a quiet neighborhood.

The room smelled like sour socks from the moment i stepped inside, or old sweat. The smell never disappeared throughout my 7 days. the walls are discolored from wear and tear. After a shower my feet were covered in the long hair of someone with long black hair. The room should undergo maintenance, a fresh coat of paint, a carpet deep clean and a proper cleaning session of the ventilation. the negative aside, the Onsen was clean, relaxing and nice, and my room had a wonderful view of Kyoto tower, and the hotel staff is kind and nice.

We felt comfortable staying. We like the futons in the room. The front area is very nice. Our room was fairly clean but not all the areas especially in the bathroom. The checking person wasn’t too efficient but the others were very kind and nice. Breakfast was good enough. The miso soup was amazing. We wished more variety. Overall we liked staying there.
