Excellent location close to Kyoto station, great selection at breakfast buffet and spacious onsen facility. Would love to have more massage chairs to accommodate to the high demand.
Spent 5 days in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo and this was by far my favourite place to stay at. Overall amazing experience- great option after long days exploring
The whole property is in a traditional Japanese style where you walk in with slippers and beds are on the floor. The flow everywhere is just tatami mats and there’s a nice cozy feeling walking around the hotel with the night clothes they give you. The onsen is a huge plus. Had a bit of a cultural shock in the beginning to go in naked but it was truly freeing and extremely clean and well maintained. The onsen is open through the night which makes it convenient to relax after a long day. This is THE hotel to stay in if you’re going to Kyoto (which you must anyway for the Fushimi Inari Shrine)
Amazing breakfast and super kind staff. Expected great value and customer service from a great Japanese hotel. I would stay again!

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
The rooms are much smaller than previewed. We booked a room for a family of 4 and barely 2 could sleep in the room.
The staff is nice. The location is great with close access to Kyoto station and other subway lines.
Overall, I would say our trip was a 3.5/5. We stayed early April so it was during busy season and you'll see large groups of people coming in and out.
PROS:
- Easy check in and self service check out
- Large variety of options in buffet both Western & Japanese. Loved trying all the different small Japanese dishes.
- Extra free little snacks, ramen & ice cream was offered
- Onsen was amazinggg. It helped my body and feet relax so much after all the walking. I do wish they provide a guide on suggesting which pools to start with and continue on. I only stayed for 2 nights so 1st night I was basically trying all the pools and figuring their temps. 2nd night I only picked a few pools.
- Convenient walking distance from and to Kyoto train station
CONS:
- You will need to go early right when buffet opens, the line fills up fast and sometimes goes out the door.
- For onsen use, you do need to cover up your tattoos. I have 2 tattoos (small/medium size). I asked for tattoo patches and I believe they would usually offer 2, but the gentleman up front was nice and gave me 4 patches.
- Bed is quite firm and pillows are small and flat. This is where alot of points gets deducted for me. After a full day being out, lying on a firm bed is not comfortable.
- Location is not quite where all the major shopping & restaurants are. You do need to take a bus or train to get there. If you expected to walk there, it will take about 30mins. Buses do get full fast during peak times.
I loved this hotel. This is my 2nd time staying here. It is walkable to most landmarks and shopping. Loved the hot spring that the place offered. The staff are amazingly nice and very professional.
Walkable from Osaka station in about 8 minutes. Minutes to Osaka Tower in 6 mins.
A unique experience where from when you enter the property the no shoes allowed inside so everything goes into shoe lockers like when you go into an onsen. It was different and appreciative as shoes really does track all sorts of outside funk.
A lot of free amenities from last evening ramens, massage chairs, drink machines, evening desserts.
Excellent experience!
Staff were very patient even with foreign guests, ready with multiple languages and easy-to-follow instructions. We were even able to leave luggage with the hotel after checkout, which was very convenient in allowing us to continue exploring Kyoto at our leisure for several hours. The breakfast buffet is out-of-this-world, and the baths were wonderful.
Amazing property, great service and wonderful different kinds of onsen. You need to line up for buffet breakfast and the soba at night as there are many guests, still, our stay was great
Excellent property with friendly staff and clean hotel with wonderful amenities including the onsen, massage chairs, free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby. Also very close to the train station and lots of restaurants. The best place we stayed in Japan!
