In today’s Las Vegas environment, where there is a monopoly with Caesars and MGM, and everything is a blatant rip off, the Virgin Hotel stands out as being a less expensive, off strip option with a property that’s just as nice as the strip hotels. It’s quiet here. Not a ton of people. The restaurants have curious hours. Sadly, my experience was not the best when the front desk refused to honor my Hilton gold status and gave me a fourth floor room overlooking a rooftop and air conditioners. I am typically upgraded to the larger rooms in the Ruby tower, but there seemed to be a vendetta against me because I purchased my room on Expedia, where the price was significantly lower than what Hilton was offering its loyal members on its website. There were plenty of rooms that I could have had, but the desk clerk decided to punish me. As a result, I am unlikely to stay here again and chose not to gamble here or dine in any of their restaurants. The truth is that virgin destroyed the old hard rock hotel by ruining its lively sunken casino and making everything a bland desert theme. If you just need a quiet place to stay, it’s fine – and Parking is free. If you want to enjoy the excitement of Las Vegas and be respected as a Hilton honors member, stay somewhere else.

I liked that there were several pools on the property and you can order food and drinks by those pools. There was also a pizzeria that was open late a night, which was helpful to grab food after the concert. The room service was limited to just breakfast though.
