THE CONVERSATION PIT
The conversation pit is the heart of Carpenter’s Cabin and the feature that has made the property recognizable well beyond Hocking Hills.
Sunken into the main living level and surrounded by windows, it was designed as a true gathering space rather than a decorative feature. There’s room to talk, play games, watch a movie, read, or simply spend an evening together around the modern electric fireplace.
FOUR LEVELS WITH ROOM TO SPREAD OUT
Carpenter’s Cabin works especially well for families, extended families, and groups because everyone doesn’t have to occupy the same room at the same time.
Two private primary suites give adults comfortable spaces of their own. Additional sleeping areas include thoughtfully designed bunk spaces and the loft, for a total of 7 real beds and accommodations for up to 12 guests.
The walkout lower level provides another large lounge and media space and has recently been refreshed with new finishes, a remodeled full bath, and a custom mural. Direct access leads outside toward the hot tub and surrounding woods.
THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is fully equipped for groups who actually plan to cook.
You’ll find a mixer, blender, waffle maker, French press, standard coffee maker, cookware, serving pieces, and everyday cooking essentials. Organic coffee, teas, and basic spices are provided.
The dining area seats ten, with additional seating at the kitchen island.
THE NEST + OUTDOOR LIVING
The newest addition to Carpenter’s Cabin is The Nest, a two-level outdoor space tucked beneath the trees.
The lower level creates a dedicated outdoor dining area, while the upper level provides an elevated place to lounge among the pines.
Beyond The Nest, the cabin includes three covered decks, a third-story screened deck with hammock chairs, hot tub, fire pit, Blackstone grill, and direct access to our private wooded trails.
Families also have the Jaybird Fort, a custom mini version of Carpenter’s Cabin created just for kids and located steps from the house.
32 PRIVATE WOODED ACRES
You don’t have to leave the property to spend time in nature.
Private trails wind through the surrounding woods, ravines, and creeks, giving guests room to walk, explore, and enjoy the property beyond the cabin itself.
Many of Hocking Hills’ best-known hiking trails, caves, waterfalls, restaurants, and attractions are approximately 5–20 minutes away.
