While the grounds are pleasant and exterior of buildings look nice pay attention to the room. We stayed at the Gable Little dark inside no elevator as only 2 story. Room could be cleaner at baseboard by beds crumbs and dirt. The hot water tap in morning was milky white and the sink. Tv remote control doesn’t work. Had to use on off button on tv. Finally no maid service had to request someone come empty garbage bins and bring clean towels. I’m still waiting to hear back from the property. Thankfully we only stayed 2 nights. Very disappointed

We were welcomed by Jordan at the front desk. She was very welcoming and kind, gave us great tips, and was just a lovely person. We love staying at Lakeside Inn. Everyone is friendly, and the place is very charming.

Main meal was not good. Appetizer was wrong. Waited forever for the entree. Had prime rib and eggs. Prime rib was fatty. No bread available for eggs. Waiter was not attentive as should have been. Bathtub needed non-slip material. Difficult to adjust shower. Water pressure appears low. Building built in 1883 so there is a lot to be desired. Trip was pleasant.

The property was located central to all the shopping and restaurants. The rooms are very nice but not updated. If you’re looking for a really beautiful stay definitely try Lakeside Inn. We had a great time and the entire staff was excellent.

Beautiful setting on the lake. Everything was walkable and the pool area was nice and clean. We loved the rocking chairs on the porch. We needed a relaxing weekend and Lakeside Inn was it.

This is a great old property with much heritage. The staff was excellent. The lobby bar was quite comfortable in the pianist in the evening on Wednesday and Thursday night was quite good The location is perfect for anybody wanting to walk around the downtown area.

Good location but subpar accommodations

The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in a great location on a lake and right near downtown Mount Dora, however, the lighting in the room was very poor, there was a sag in the mattress, and the room had a strong musty odor. While I knew this hotel was “historic”, I didn’t realize how much the accommodations need to be updated when I booked my stay.
