Our neighborhood in Lewes, Delaware, offers the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. We’re tucked just off Route 1, giving you quick access to local beaches, shopping, and dining, yet our property backs up to a protected wildlife area, so you’ll still enjoy peace, privacy, and the sounds of nature.
We’re located only 0.4 miles from the Lewes–Georgetown Bike Trail, one of the most scenic and accessible routes in coastal Delaware. Whether you’re looking for a morning ride, an easy commute into town, or a breezy trip to the beach, the trail is a must. It’s a flat, paved path that’s perfect for cyclists of all levels and connects you directly to downtown Lewes and Lewes Beach, which are both under a 4-mile bike ride away.
If you head left on the bike trail, you’ll reach Old World Bread, a local bakery known for its artisan loaves, fresh pastries, and hearty breakfast sandwiches—just 0.5 miles from the property. Turning right, you’ll find a number of local favorites a couple of miles down the path, including The Station on Kings, which serves one of the best brunches in the area, and Marigold, a charming ice-cream stand in the same parking lot—don’t miss their homemade flavors!
We’re also directly across Route 1 from Nassau Valley Vineyards, Delaware’s first and only award-winning winery. On Sundays, the vineyard hosts a wonderful farmers’ market where you can pick up local produce, baked goods, crafts, and enjoy live music in a beautiful setting. On Saturdays, you can bike to the Historic Lewes Farmers’ Market, which is one of the most popular on the Delaware coast. Both are great ways to spend a leisurely morning sampling local flavors.
For those who love to shop, the Rehoboth Tanger Outlets are only 3 miles away, offering dozens of brand-name stores and tax-free Delaware shopping. You can be browsing outlets or strolling the Rehoboth Boardwalk in under ten minutes by car.
If you’d like to explore the area by bike but didn’t bring your own, we highly recommend Seagreen Bicycles for rentals. The shop is locally owned—by our neighbor’s son!—and they’re known for being friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Their bikes are comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for exploring the nearby trails.
Our location truly gives you the best of both worlds: quick, easy access to Lewes, Rehoboth, and surrounding attractions, but nestled in a quiet pocket of natural beauty. Whether you’re here for the beaches, the food, the shopping, or just the slow, coastal pace, you’ll love calling The Crow’s Nest your home base while you explore everything this charming Delaware town has to offer.
