Disliked: Cleanliness
Unfortunately our experience at this home was a big disappointment. While we were expecting a rustic setting, we walked in to a very cluttered front yard, dirty appliances inside the home and the main floor had two refrigerators full of food and items that left no room for our own items and the refrigerators smelled of rotting food. We were one of 7 couples that were attending and we were the fist to arrive. We picked up trash from the yard and I cleaned the microwave and coffee makers that were dirty and had someone’s previous coffee used grounds still there. When I discovered the sheets were dirty on a bed, we called the owner saying that this was 100% not as advertised and we couldn’t stay there, we were told it was cleaned and it was nonrefundable, we should expect it to be rustic. I can handle rustic but not dirty and smelly. We decided to wash the sheets ourselves but first had to remove someone else’s clothes from the washer/dryer. Ultimately 4 of the 7 couples refused to stay there and found hotel rooms in town but that was not an option for the other 3. The photos and website were certainly misleading as they seem taken years ago before all of the clutter and personal items accumulated over the years. It was not a pleasant experience and unfortunately ruined our plans for a fun weekend with friends. While the owners were cordial and I believe had good intentions, the actual state of the home is very misrepresented and our group paid way too much for it.
