We (two couples) really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Principe Avila, next door to sister hotel Hotel Principe Lisboa. We were welcomed by very friendly reception staff. Reception area was modern and comfortable with a small bar. Rooms were clean with a very modern layout and were serviced daily. Towels replaced if required and bathroom had a hot, powerful shower. Showergel, conditioner and body lotion supplied. The beds were comfortable, one or two English channels on tv. Slidding door for bathroom with large mirror on reverse side. V clever. We requested a kettle which was in our room for check in. Fridge and hairdryer in room. Bottled Drinking water is replenished daily. There are adequate power points in the room. Breakfast staff were lovely. Good selection of hot and cold food especially pastries. Pastel de natas every morning 😋. Good selection of tea and coffees. This hotel is across the road from the Sao Sebastiao stop, Av. Duque exit of the red metro line from the airport. This is the last stop. Exit metro to the left for most convenient exit for hotel. Exiting right off the metro (Av. Antonio Augusto de Aguios) will take you to El Corte Ingles - huge shopping mall with a large selection of designer stores and great selection of eateries. This mall can also be accessed street level, 5 minutes walk from hotel. All in all an excellent hotel base to explore Lisbon. The Metro line from the airport ends very near the hotel, which takes much of the hassle out of such transfers.The lifts were always available, the coffee machines produced fine coffee, and the breakfast service was fast and efficient.The bed was most comfortable too. I didn't like the serving of marmalade in triangular chunks-it was far too awkward.Also, there is no way of filling a bathroom basin with water, because the system, as I discovered, means that there is no plug to stop the water running.I have never, in many years of travel seen such a system, which is not much use if you wish to shave or even wash your face.

Hotel fantástico! novíssimo, café da manhã muito bom, do jeito que os brasileiros gostam... pegamos uma suite enorme, super espaçosa, e tudo novinho! Funcionarios super simpaticos, apenas o estacionamento é bem apertado, se estiver com carro grande, pode ser perigoso pois tem 3 níveis para descer fazendo curvas e é bem apertado. A localização é perfeita, da para fazer muitas coisas a pé, ficamos ao lado do el corte ingles. Super recomendo! numa próxima ida à Lisboa, considerarei ficar aqui novamente! obrigada
