I really enjoyed this hotel and would look to stay here again on a future trip to Lisbon. The conversion of this old building into a hotel makes for a unique experience. I had a very nice, large room with a separate bedroom and living space with large juliet balcony doors that open onto the Praça Luís de Camões. Very convenient location, close to the metro and plenty of restaurants and nightlife steps away. The staff were kind and helpful. There is a nice bar and working space on the 1st Floor. If you are bothered by noise from the street, I'd recommend a room on an upper floor as this is a very lively area.

We had an excellent stay at the Le Consulant hotel. The location was perfect for touring the city - everything was close and easy walking distance. The hotel has great history and the management has done a great job blending modern amenities with the historical charm. For those visiting - keep in mind that the historical Tram 28 stops right in front of the hotel.

Good location & easy to walk & explore the city. The room was comfortable. However, there was no way to heat water for hot tea or cups for anything larger than just nespresso. The bathroom was spacious, but lacked counter space . If they put a smal table next to sink area, it would be perfect. Staff was fantastic, helpful & friendly.

The photos are very misleading. I’m still in shock how horrible the actual conditions were inside the rooms and bathrooms. Please see the attached photos as I know the hotel management will lie and make up excuses. The hotel manager refused any compensation for such an unacceptable condition for a supposedly deluxe 2 bed/2bath unit. Management was so dishonest and said we could have moved to another unit, but all the larger units were sold out that specific Sunday. I’m sure the horrendous conditions were not isolated to just one unit or one room. Poor management is pervasive with no accountability. This hotel advertises air conditioning, but they will not allow guests to use the air conditioning by saying their system is still programmed for winter mode even though it is late March and already warm in Lisbon. The location might be central, but I would not sacrifice cleanliness, safety, comfort, and basic maintenance of the rooms. The toilet seat was broken and soiled, sharp broken strips of wood sticking up from their poorly maintained wooden floors, and so many other visual signs of total neglect of the rooms. We had to report a plumbing leak inside the wall which flooded the floor with water. My whole family was so uncomfortable, and at the same time thankful that it was only a 1 night stay at Hotel Consulat. We were so happy to leave that awful dumpster of a hotel as early as possible. If you’re thinking old equals charming, this is really a far stretch by any standards.

Centrally located to all the highlights of the city. Tram 28 stops right in front of the property to go to Alfama neighborhood. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and shopping area. Although not a full service hotel rooms are quite spacious, housekeeping is above par but could use more services and amenities. Front desk reception area is only open from 8AM to midnight. Staff is helpful and friendly. For the price I would say a little expensive for the total experience! Would definitely recommend for the location and convenience of getting around but not to expect anything above and beyond that.

The apartment was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only issue was both showers in our unit just poured water out onto the floor of the bathrooms. It smelled a little musty in the bathrooms and the wood floors felt sponges and stayed wet due to the water. They need to put a threshold on the shower floors to keep the water in.

We arrived all wet and bedraggled having traveled all day on a bus from Porto. We were upgraded to a lovely room which helped to sooth our weary bodies. The hotel was very clean, beautifully decorated with special amenities such as a yoga mat, bathrobes and slippers, and little cookies on a plate. We would stay here any time. Thank you.
