Good location, nice setting and friendly staff. Hotel inside run down and in need of updating although it was clean so great work by the cleaning staff. The bed very old and worn out and very uncomfortable. The springs worn out. The bathroom had no window or working fan to take away steam causing damp smells. Furniture in room and en suite very old along with carpet which needs replacing. The light in the room by the main door had no way of turning off so the light was on all night. Overall okay but definitely not a 4 star as advertised. Personally I have stayed in 3 star hotels better then this one. If the rooms were updated with new bed, furniture, carpet, bathroom suite and working fan the guest experience would be much better.

Great one night stay but spa a bit disappointing

Great hotel in nice location. Pleasant and clean inside hotel and room with nice grounds.Had dinner in the cheaper Glasshouse restaurant which was reasonable value. Only slight negative would be have to pay for use of spa if not booking direct. Not cheap at £20 for an hour and the spa isn't the best with insufficient room to swim properly and water not quite warm enough to sit about in (also best area for sitting the jets weren't working).

Perfect stay.

Had a fantastic stay at the wild pheasant. Staff are lovely. Room was for 3 but only set up for 2, the staff couldnt be any quicker having the room amended for the 3 of us. Afternoon tea was gorgeous , spa immaculate and not overcrowded. Enjoyed a shoulder and back massage to finish the trip. It was perfect. Also very close to the centre nice 15 minute walk along the river

Pleasant stay with family and dog

Beautiful hotel and spa in a great location; rooms are very clean and spacious and dog-friendly 10 minutes walk into town. Nice bar and restaurant. Only issues: I feel £30 a night for your dog is a bit high, compared to other hotels.

The food in the restaurant was ok but not great for the price paid, had beef and noodles and beef was quiet dry, we ate out 2nd night. The spa was chargeable even though we were hotel guests which I found annoying as most hotels with spas let guests use free of charge. When we did pay to use it the spa pool wasn't very warm and some of the jets weren't working. Not worth the £10 paid. Also to hire a robe they wanted £7.50! Breakfast also chargeable again for a 4* hotel didn't expect that. So a reasonable priced weekend away turned into an expensive one!

Amazing as always!

Love the Wild Pheasant. Brought our 82 year old aunt for a few days. She loved it here as do we as we stay here every August. Myself and husband will be back in August. Food is amazing and staff especially Albie and Clare are so welcoming and very good with the customers
