Really impressed with the hotel, i was apprehensive beforehand. Really clean nice room with Air conditioning that worked fine. Receptionists a really nice guy he warmed my babys milk bottle up and offered to keep the milk in the fridge. Location was brilliant short walk to hyde park leading to all city attractions.

You get exactly what you pay for

You get exactly what you pay for. For an extreme budget hotel, it's really nice! The bed was actually really comfortable. New towels every day, I saw them cleaning multiple times. It was just about 5 minutes from Paddington Station. Even getting back at 12am, I never felt unsafe as a solo female traveler. Staff was nice. I arrived at 9am and they stored my luggage till check in. Just a few things: They said a 4th floor walk up - Americans just remember they don't count the first floor. My room was almost on the 6th. 70 stairs. TV - Didn't have any channels Shared shower - yes it was clean, I actually saw them cleaning it. But the photo they have about the shared shower is not the one on the top floor. The one on the top floor was a closet converted. You literally open the closet and there is the shower. They say all of this, they don't lie about anything. Just wanted to clarify a few things. It was a great place to stay, the 70 steps were a lot after each day.

Property was in a convenient location Negatives - - we were in room 21, which is the fron facing window room. The arrival buzzer is very loud adn woke my family numerous time thorugh out the evening and night. This could be solded by only rinigng the night staff or attendant.. - The stairs that went down to area outside of our room, not sure what this was to but everymorning at 4am someone went down to it and made lots of noise - CLeanliness - The room was dirty - we found clothes (shirts/Socks) left from previous vacationers that were under our beds, the sheets had blood or food spots on them, and the there was a considerable amount of dirt and dust on the floors -

I wouldn't recommend

Narrow winding stairs, maybe 120?? More?? Thru several narrow doors. Beds in extremely poor, broken down condition. Only heat in the room was a small, ineffective (but working) electric space heater.

Barry House was exactly what I needed when my train home was cancelled and I was stuck in London overnight. Although it’s certainly not luxury, it is affordable, convenient and comfortable. I slept well in the bed and have no complaints for a basic nights stay.

Easy to find from Paddington, friendly face in arrival - and an easy check-in - and a nice comfy basic room. In truth, and I've stayed in a lot of the hotels around Sussex Gardens for work/leisure, one of the good ones! Very comfy bed, good sized room for the price & no issues at all. Tea/Coffee in the room, shower all great and space for your things. Oh, and very clean! Excellent.
