This would have been a nice budget hotel for an older person except for a single major flaw — there is no lift! I had other minor quibbles, but this is the biggest.
The staff could not have been more helpful. They took my bags upstairs without problems — and brought them down again at the end of my stay. They were courteous and friendly at all times. I don't know how they do it, frankly. But my knees were in terrible pain after two days of climbing stairs, not only from the ground floor to my room on the first, but also from my room up 14 steps to the shared loo on the landing. There are regulations in London about accommodating people with limited mobility, but either no one enforces the regulations or older hotels are exempt. A real shame.

One night stay
Cheap (in London terms) and cheerful. Didn’t expect a lot, but bed was comfier than expected (albeit single and not huge). Room central heating didn’t seem to work although there was an electric radiator hidden which I didn’t see. Bathroom was small but fine, albeit no door. Also shower took about 5 mins before it went hot. Perfectly suitable option for a cheap one night stay / somewhere to crash. Would not recommend for older people, anyone with disability or accessibility requirements, given the nature of property (had to walk up 4-5 flights of narrow stairs and corridors, no lift).
worth the money, the neatness is topnotch very affordable and nice customer service. Room fully heated, safe and secured. Close to the train station. Highly recommend
Its clean, and in a central area.
If you need a bed and that's all and at a good price, this will do the job well.
If your a family or a light sleeper, then not idea. The trains could keep some people awake depending on what floor your on.
The building is being worked on - there was building work noise staring each morning about 10ish - so if you looking for a sleep in - no way.
The rooms are small and if your on the top floor i hope your fit as the stairs are steep.
Its fine, i just needed a bed and it did the job - but lets see how its when all the work is finished.
A very beautiful hotel that I would highly recommend to anyone staying in London! Close to lots of dining and coffee options and a few minutes walk from Maarten Baas’s Clock, which was a fun little sight to see.
Stayed for 3 nights, really impressed with the service and cleanliness. The bathroom was brand new and spotless. Rest of the room was also very nice. It is an old building so can get quite noisy at night, doors are quite close to each other so can really hear other people getting into their room, 1st night was quite loud but the rest was fine. I usually sleep with earplugs anyway so this was not a problem for me. Staff was helpful and friendly. They had a water dispenser and free coffee/tea kettle which was appreciated. The hotel was very close to Paddington station so it was ideal for us. Would definitely stay there again!
This property is in a safe location and just around the corner from Paddington Station, restaurants and shops. Our room was very small but clean. USB charging ports were a plus! The staff was friendly and helpful! Be aware there is 3 floors and no elevator (which we knew in advance). We sleep with a sound spa and had no issues with any noise. We enjoyed our stay! Would recommend!
The rooms were very very small. There is no lift and it was hard to carry baggage let alone walk up that many stairs. The hotel was very clean and in a perfect location, walking distance to Paddington Station. Rooms on lower floors are not quite as you can feel the vibrations from the tube or people screaming outside.
I loved this quaint friendly spot! I will DEFINITELY be back here!!

Liked: Cleanliness
Other than the many long flights of stairs to the upper floor of this Georgian building, where my room was located, and the lack of any possibility of having breakfast at the hotel, my stay was very good.
This was the perfect lil place for my stay. It was clean and conveniently located near Paddington station. The staff were friendly and they cleaned the room daily.
The hotel did not inform me that it was under renovation. The construction was happening directly below my room and woke me up at 7am. Due to the construction I had to take a back stairway to access my room. This should be disclosed when booking.
Sadly although the location was great the service in the evening and what the facility portrayed a “superior double” to be an what we actually had - 5 winding stair cases later to reach - was very different.
The pillows were like sacks and when we went down to reception in the evening to request more (why only provide 2 for a double and 1 spare?) the night staff didn’t know where they were kept and so couldn’t actually help.
We also had to sleep with the window open all night (in late January) because the room was so hot. Kindly added to by building work in the next door room from 9am onwards. Parts of the hotel have evidently been modernised but the remaining rabbits warren of connecting corridors and rooms are all a bit tired.
