Building work so limited areas was told bar shut when I returned at 11 in evening from work function - room was a high standard but was woke up in room 303 every ten minutes by what I think was underground or maybe boiler noise - the out door area was lovely just shame was not open late and noisy room as stayed years ago and had an excellent sleep - breakfast was very good though.

Breakfast was not good. Renovations were a major issue. You sell the hotel at normal prices but you do not tell the guests that there is extensive renovation and the entire lobby is not available. Major issue. Think this needs to be a big alert for guests before they commit to coming to the hotel. shameful!

We got a good deal on this three star hotel by combining our three nights stay with an Aer Lingus flight from Cork Ireland. Although the main lobby was closed due to renovations, we were not inconvenienced as the entrance to our room was in a different part of the building. The room was huge and had all the conveniences we needed. It was located within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, and there was a tube station to get to other London attractions

Room was not ready at check-in time. Horrific construction noise in the lobby made it impossible to talk to the front desk staff. The elevator was very noisy, keeping us awake until very late. After making a reservation we were surprised to learn the Bombay Brasserie was far away from the hotel. All of these things diminished our experience at this otherwise fabulous hotel.
