Like stepping back in time - wonderful lobby. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Room comfy. Bathroom a bit ‘tired’ and definitely needed a new shower. Old hotel but would benefit from air conditioning!

The twin room was spacious, clean and with very comfy beds. Loved the variety of options at breakfast. Staff were very welcoming and courteous. Will definitely stay again when in that area.

The staff was great, and the room was very small. We selected a king bed and the foot of the bed basically touched the table. Literally a half inch in between. And the shower was very narrow, so water was constantly getting on the floor.

The front desk needed more staff. Also, there was no one to help with our large, heavy suitcases, and that may have been because there weren't enough staff at the front desk. Everyone was very polite, though.

It was such a lovely hotel all round. The hotel was spotless. All the staff were very helpful. You could not fault breakfast time, there was everything you could think of to eat and drink. I am very pleased I chose this hotel for our break.

Some rooms face busy streets with a fair amount of outside noise. It's not terrible and didn't bother me, but something to be aware of. The rooms were clean and well organized for space efficiency. The staff were kind and very helpful. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel in good location. Great breakfast.

2 night stay. The hotel is in a good location, the staff we encountered (reception, bar, breakfast service) were all friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of options and drinks available. The bar was very relaxed with the whole hotel having a bit of an Art Deco feel to it. Only slight (and this is minor) downside was that the room had no air conditioning, although a desk fan was provided for use in the wardrobe.

Great Place to Stay in a Safe, Fun Part of London

Tavistock Hotel is a great spot to stay in London! The neighborhood was very active and quite safe, with a university right next door. Several underground and national rail stations are nearby, getting around was very easy. We traveled to the usual tourist places (central London, Buckingham palace, Kensington Palace, Greenwich, as well as Wembley Stadium and it was an easy ride to all of them. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. There is no AC, so be prepared, the rooms have fans so we didn't have any trouble with the temperature. The restaurant is another great reason to stay there. The Indian food and pub food is both excellent and is absolutely worth trying while you are there. We would definitely stay here again!
