The private room had a lovely location in the building, on the top corner, and was surprisingly quiet! Loads of local spots for nightlife right out the door. Parking is $50 a day at any of the lots nearby. So parking a car, and not having to move/check on it, is almost impossible. Even when paying the higher rate - you still have to check the meter in the lot twice a day. Bathroom was not tidy, and old bathmat/rug in the bathroom was a hair magnet and didn't appear to have been changed in eons. The staff was absolutely awesome. Kind, informative, and welcoming. Will definitely stay again, simply due to the staff!

First time using a hostel, reminded me of being in a military barracks. No frills but it was nice being right on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and gift shops. I was a bit confused by the address of the hostel. The uber driver took us to the address, or rather the block where it should have been, but it is actually on the next street north which doesn't have car access. I would stay there again.

The staff was cool and the place was nice but the pubs around the place were loud, noisy and obnoxious. Mindless people. Of course it is not the hostel's fault. Just a sucky location

Great place to live, literally next to Lighthouse from Lalaland and so cheap! And also you can literally walk to ocean 2-3 munutes. It was great stay with great breakfast. Staff was so friendly and helping. Even after checkout they permit to stay in hostel to shower or wait for flight and etc. It was great, bc i was just in sand from swimming and outdoor showers were closed. Definitely recommending it to anyone. Wish could stay more.

Nothing special but the location.

I've never stayed in a hostel before and I don't think I will again. I know some hostels are nice,especilly the newer ones like the one in Santa Barbara where I visited a friend who was staying there. However, this in old building and the furiture junky. I had my own room not a dorm room and I thought I had a private bath, because the the desciption kind of deceoptively made it seem like it did by not making it clear. Just saying that they didn't provide toothpaste or a toothbrush {as if anyone expects that in the first place!} I'm not into sharing a bathrom with anyone on the same floor. Yes, I could partially see the ocean (and the old/rusted roof equipment on the roof next to it.) I have to say the location was great and the staff was friendly, If you are on a surfing trip with the guys or gals and you need a cheap dorm stay it might be okay.

I loved breakfasts, kind people and quietness of the place (except early morning machinery out there in the beach, but I’m an early bird). What I wished to have is a larger basin and a hygienic shower, as well as cleaning options in my room / laundry options in the hostel. Thanks for a nice stay!
