The property is easy to find, on the main road. Parking is down a small lane which leads to the back of the hotel. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. When we walked down the corridors, we were a bit apprehensive as the doors for the rooms are very close together, and look quite old but once you open the door into the rooms, it is a nice surprise. Very clean,nicely presented with coffee and tea. Bathroom was clean, the shower was lovely and hot, although too low for my husband who usually finds this, anyway! The only criticisms were that the bed isn't that comfortable and the pillows are awful. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and are now glad we didn't eat dinner the night before, as the breakfast ingredients were not great quality - for the price - orange juice watery, tinned mushrooms and inexpensive sausages. It was an ok breakfast but not great. We would stay again but only for a night - it was good for what we wanted.

The receptionist was happy to deal with our special request for a bath. All staff were fantastic and hotel was clean and environment was very relaxing.

breakfast cold. stair carpet needed cleaning.

Pros: Nothing, although staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: General maintainance overall.
Location: We went for wedding, we did not go for area, the wedding went on three days.
We were disappointed entrance dirty needed clearing up. Room had one tiny bar of soap two people staying three nights, Tea and coffee tray not replenished.. Found price even for August high for quality of room.

Short Break

Staff were friendly although a little slow at times, restaurant staff could do with a little more enthusiasm . Comfortable room and clean. The food was very good and hot at breakfast time. Lovely location helped by the wonderful weather. My only gripe was that the bedroom walls are thin and I was woken early each morning by the person next door running the shower, flushing the toilet and even the alarm clock was loud. Oh and snoring during the night, so I didn't have the expected good nights sleep or lie in (awake at 6 each morning) The shower was fab , hot and powerful.

Good Hotel

I booked the hotel to relax in between days working in Cornwall and was pleased with the accommodation. The lady on reception was lovely and really helpful and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. The room could have been a tad larger but honestly, that is me struggling to give a balanced review and identify some 'improvement pointers'. Good hotel! Hopefully anyone staying will find it just as good.
