The hotel is nostalgic and well-kept. Loved the atmosphere, especially as the night ends. The bar gets packed. It's vibrant. Rooms are small but very clean and keeps the vibe of the hotel. The area around the hotel is just ok. Not much to do, had to drive a few minutes away to get to other dining/bars/nightlife. Otherwise it's perfect.

What an incredibly beautiful hotel. It’s kind of a slightly sketchy area of downtown, but the historic grandeur of the hotel more than makes up for it. We really enjoyed our stay, especially hanging out with a drink at the bar, watching everyone go by.

The Brown Hotel is my favorite place to stay in Louisville. My girlfriend and I stay there at least once a month. I love every aspect of this hotel except for the way I was treated both times at the lobby bar. Both bartenders on the last two occasions were extremely rude to me and my girlfriend. We just wanted a few drinks and some dessert. The waiter after ignoring us for over a half an hour came over telling us that the kitchen was closed. After talking to the manager, he informed me it was 12 and not 11 like I was previously told.
