WOW....just wow for this place. We arrived late at 2:00 AM and we told the manager on duty that we had an early tour the next morning at 5:30 am. When we arrived at the front desk, he had two breakfast kits to go prepared for us. Incredible service. The room was spectacular and the view was just as good. The beautiful Miranda was close to her birthday so she got special treatment from all the staff. The Thai restaurant was delicious and they reserved a special outdoor table for us. Drinks available here as well!!! Highly recommended. Joe and Miranda

The hotel was well situated, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. However, one downside was the experience with the shops in the hotel-some of the shop workers were quite aggressive in trying to sell their products, which made us uncomfortable at times and wanted to avoid using the facilities. A little more space to browse freely would have made the experience much better.

We stayed 3 nights. This is a rather old hotel but it’s charming, comfortable, and a whole world of difference when you step in from the slump environment outside. Pros: - There is a coffee/gelato bar, Lebanese restaurant, Thai restaurant, Italian restaurant, Nubian restaurant, bar serving the pool. We loved the Lebanese restaurant and had many meals there. - Beautiful facade. - Room is spacious and bed comfortable, the bathroom is a bit aged but kept clean. Though a couple more hooks to hang clothes will be great. - Beautiful pool facing the Valley of the kings and Nile. - Excellent service from the hotel. - Just opposite the hotel there are a couple of minimarts to get soft drinks and tidbits. Some of them offer unofficial money exchange. - There is an ATM within the hotel basement if you need to draw some money. - Not much hassling from vendors within the hotel compared to the world outside the hotel. Cons: - Outside of the hotel, it’s dark and sad. It’s less than 10 minutes ride to the Central Area where the harbour is but getting there means you either walk on narrow dusty pathways alongside horse carriages and cars or try to hail a taxi or horse carriage that try to rip you off every way possible.

This experience was a rather memorable one as it felt private, luxurious, and beautiful. The hotel felt private even when in the middle of a large and busy city. Additionally the accommodations provided by this hotel were on a different level, so much so where even the bathrooms felt luxurious. The scenery was simply gorgeous as it had the most picturesque view of the Nile. One of the food items Khubs was very good, though the omelets were undercooked.

Very good location and wonderful staff. They were very nice and upgraded our room during our stay. We had a late flight and they let us have late check out which was kind and helpful. So many restaurants to choose from and we loved that you could rent a boat to cruise down the Nile during sunset. Would stay again!

I stayed for 3 nights, I booked a King city view room, at check-in I was told I was upgraded to a garden view room. Upon getting in the room I was greeted with two double beds. Not having sleep in 24hours reduced my willingness to call and complain. The hotel it’s self is very clean but very out dated. It really should undergo remodeling, especially if it plans to compete with new luxury hotels that are coming in the area. Staff are all kind and helpful. The ones motivated by tips stick out but none make you uncomfortable.

Overall a great place but for the four of us it was a bit odd of a configuration with two double beds. The place was clean food was good and the views of our free upgraded room were fantastic.

I haven’t left many reviews but I realized that I look at people’s reviews when I book a room. This is Great hotel. The staff are amazing. My room had 2 bathrooms, the first time I’ve seen that. I don’t know what else to say. Book your room here!! I took videos and will post them on instagram. If you’re reading this post. Look no farther. Book it you won’t be disappointed. The room, pool, 3 restaurants. Looking for a ride, ask for Tiger in a van outside the hotel, (no affiliations) he is safe a will take you anywhere. Tell him Smiley sent you.

I highly recommend this property. We were originally booked at an alternative property in Cairo, but we quickly left and looked for an alternative. The Steigenberger was incredible. Honestly, it saved our trip and the second we walked into our room, we breathed a sigh of relief. This property was clean, modern, and just fantastic. Grateful they had last-minute availability and that we could stay there.

Truly outstanding staff at this hotel. Great variety of restaurants on site and the river jetty on site is extremely convenient for hiring boats for a cruise or to cross the river to the West bank. We arrived early on a flight to Cairo and left on a later flight and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating an early checkin and late checkout. Transportation and guides are very easy to obtain both with the help of the hotel and without. The rooms and pool area are spotless and the location on the Nile is superb.
