Great location in downtown Madison. Older hotel and shows its age in certain areas (worn out furniture in guest rooms) but overall decent. Biggest concern is the homeless population in the area that frequently enter the hotel, use the lobby restrooms and ask hotel guests for money. Even saw a homeless man in the women’s bathroom, front desk and security don’t seem to do much about this. Also, elevators don’t actually require your room key to access floors which is a safety issue. Not sure that I’ll stay at this property again when there are so many others in the area.

The bartender in the Governor’s Club was obnoxious and ruined our evening. He spoke too loudly, never was quiet, didn’t greet us in a friendly manner, acted like we were bothering him and was just interested in the couple at the bar he was preaching to. The servers in the evening and at breakfast were amazing!! So nice and did a great job.

I tried to get airport pickup.They said take a taxi. Therewas no taxis waiting in taxi stand for 30 minutes and calling the taxi company took a long time to get a connection.I was disappointed because it took me at least an extra hour to get from the airport to the hotel. This might be a deal breaker from staying at this hotel again . There are a lot of good hotels in the area.They charge a lot for a room and do not include breakfast . Very disappointed in this hotel. The interior of the rooms need upgrading and there are few amenities in the room .Not going to stay here again for the price they charge.They did give a refund but the management said we do not need you so stay somewhere else next time. There are better hotels with good service in Madison
