Location was great but

Location was the best , i dont mind the noise in the middle of the night because you are in the centet of plaza del sol … the guy in the front is kinda snooty though when i checked in , but the other crew was nice , rooms need updating , there is a distinct smell in the bathroom , it needs more ventilation though its dated , sheets n blankets shloud also be updated

Our room was ann exterior room facing the Main Street. It was so loud all through the night. After the party goers went to bed, it was the dumpsters being picked up. Then all the setup for the outdoor restaurant to be ready for the morning breakfast opening. Then all the construction noise. Bottom line is there was never a quiet moment in the room. Also our tv didn’t work so we couldn’t watch the Real Madrid game in our room. And the most egregious and insensitive thing the hotel did is that we arrived earlier than our checkin time. They said our room was ready but we had to pay another 150 euros to be able to check in early. That is absurd and ridiculous considering the room was ready. Will NOT return to this hotel and do not recommend it to anyone. Please beware! I read the reviews about the noise and decided it might be worth the deal. It was not worth it at all! Never again. Maybe if you are guaranteed an interior room that might be better but without a guarantee, don’t chance it!

Hotel was close to all the main attractions , walking distance to the gran via , plaza mayor , amazing restaurants and shops , would definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Madrid. Staff very friendly and welcoming .

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of city center, looking out over Puerta del Sol. Great view for people watching on our balcony. You can easily access major sites on foot or grab the subway right from the square in front. The room was on the smaller side, bed was quite firm and the sheets were a little scratchy but nothing unbareable. The bathroom is fullt renovated and stunning however the water was cold no matter how high you turn it up and at any time of day. The shower has a glass divider on 3/4 of it but it does not have a door which is fine but the open quarter to walk in does not have a lip on it to prevent warer leaking out. Our drain was slow, meaning water started to flow out through the open space where you enter. We had to turn the water on to get wet, turn it off lather/shampoo and rush to rise, so we didnt make a mess on the bathroom floor. Its fine, its got its flaws but you get probably the best walkable experience from staying here if you only need a bed to rest in.

This hotel was very basic and lacked many amenities that you would find in 2 or 3 star hotels. The room was very tiny even for 2 people. The internet was not reliable at all. However, the location and staff were excellent.

We loved Hotel Europa!! It’s a few steps from Puerta del Sol with cafe across the street, very nice restaurant inside, pharmacy and Apple Store around the corner. The front desk staff was wonderful. They helped us interpret the map directions on our phones and never steered us wrong. We were able to walk almost everywhere we went, but the subway station is also very close by. There was a little noise because of proximity to Sol, but it didn’t keep us up. Taxis/cars can’t come right to the hotel. There are only pedestrian streets. Taxis can come within about 2 blocks, though, so as long as you’re prepared, it’s fine. Plaza Mayor is very nearby and it’s about a 5 minute walk to Gran Via. Tons of great restaurants, cafes, bakeries, & ice cream stores very nearby. It was an ideal place for our Madrid stay and we’ll definitely stay there again!

Hotel Europa is a very good option if you want to stay centrally in Madrid. The room I stayed in was spacious and very clean. Despite being a stones throw away from Puerto del Sol; a popular and bustling plaza in Madrid it was very quiet. My room was 308. A couple of things: I recommend tea and coffee making facilities in the room for extra comfort and convenience. I brought my own travel kettle. Also there was quite an unpleasant smell from the bathroom. But overall I enjoyed my stay.
