Underwhelming

Cancelled the stay within 15 minutes. Room was not as advertised in both writing and pictures (photographer certainly earned his money). Half the room was in perpetual darkness as not adequately lit, sitting area designed only for 1 person despite being a room for 2-4 people. Shower head was unsightly and a rug had been placed over the floor to hide a hole in the carpet. I was informed all double rooms were as designed and that the one i was given was the showroom. On-site manager was unable to make any amendments or compensations, I was lucky enough to be able to book on the day the same room type at the Marriott Manchester Picadilly, and for the same price, to receive a room twice the size inclusive of a seperate bath and seperate shower and built-in AC

Im not sure about this place? Its fine, the breakfast is lovely but i don't know what its trying to be? I think its trying ro be hipster, but its not. Good value for money though.

This was my first stay at The Alan. It’s a lovely hotel, great design, not too fussy just simple and very clean and smelled great. Bed was huge and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The Alan Manchester

My favourite Manchester hotel! It is just the right size so I do not feel overwhelmed. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Its location is ideal- Just adjacent to St Peters Square. The staff are friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable.

The Alan offers a very comfortable bed and generous sized rooms in a good location. Our room though was incredibly dusty and the walls had alot of scuff marks. Breakfast was OK but eggs were undercooked and sausage could be better quality. Appreciated the hotel storing the suitcase for a couple of hours.
