Built in 1854, this building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and takes you back to the late 1800s but with modern amenities. Located just a stones throw from the River, across the street from Big Bouys Marina, Kwik Star and a block from the Sadie’s Sweet Ice Cream shop! You don’t want to miss enjoying all of the history and the beauty of this vintage gem! American House 1854 is listed on the National Register Historic Places. Many famous people have frequented the American House including former President Jimmy Carter and the legendary Mark Twain when he was in town doing a speech. Please note: This is a train town and we are located in close proximity to the tracks. some train noise should be expected and it’s amazing to watch them.
