My family and I (with two children, ages 6 and 11) stayed at the Dan Carlton from August 15 to 19, and unfortunately our experience was disappointing.
On the first night, we were placed in a room beside the elevator, which made it almost impossible to sleep due to the constant noise. We requested a change and were told it would be handled by the time we returned later in the day, but it was not. Only after asking again did they move us to a different room.
However, even in the new room, sleep was difficult. The hotel is located near several nightlife areas, and the windows are not soundproof, so loud music carried on throughout the night. We all had to sleep with ear plugs.
Other frustrations included the front desk — always crowded, with only two staff members handling check-ins and check-outs, resulting in very long waits. In our second room, the safe box was not working, and it took 45 minutes for someone to come and fix it. Lastly, the breakfast was at best average.
Overall, the hotel did not meet our expectations in terms of comfort or service. Is not a family friendly hotel in my opinion.
