It is a lovely hotel, in a location convenient to restaurants, cafes and trams/buses.
We stayed in the studio balcony room, it was neat, tidy with modern decor. The bathroom could do with a bit of repair work, there was nothing major, but enough to make it look a bit tired.
I injured my foot during my stay and the staff was so very accommodating and helpful. Also, a fabulous restaurant on the ground level, highly recommend the pizza at Vivi!
We had a lovely view from a high floor. The room was excellent but the bathtub could do with some re-enamelling and a more comfortable sofa would make it perfect. The room facilities were very good with a large fridge and good freezer plus an electric hob and dishwasher. There was also a nearby utility room with a washing machine and dryer.
Although not part of the hotel there was an Italian restaurant next door.
We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again.
Overall, a nice stay. Spacious room with comfy bed and amenities. Secure parking on site.
Air con in our room was effective but extremely loud and whistled all night.
Desk staff didn't really know what local facilities were about, ie we asked where the nearest bar was and they directed us down St Kilda Rd to a burger place, when there was one open immediately across the street.
Staff a little bit snooty. Except the girl on check out, she was lovely. Great room. But a little dated. Comfortable bed and pillows. Aircon also a bit ineffective.
The place was a perfect stay in Melbourne, quiet, clean, modern, staff was supper friendly. Walking distance to down town.
I would stay there over and over.
I as quite stressed after trying to return a rental car in the city, so when I arrived and there was parking out front was great! Other reviewers mentioned rooms not being ready I was concerned as I was a little early. Fortunately fro me it was ready, clean and quiet. Lots of extras and a large TV. The girl that checked me in was very helpful. I enjoyed my stay the Uber fares to and fro forms he CBD were reasonable and I will stay there again. Satisfied customer!
Amazing property. Super clean, close to a tram station that takes you straight to the city, smells really good and super quiet. The beds and pillows are SOOO comfy. 10/10 best sleep of my life - would stay here again everytime I go up to Melb!
The Kinson has long been a favourite of mine. Reasonably priced, close to the city, free parking and more. But standards are starting to slip: mould in the bathroom; a WiFi password that didn’t work; left behind rubbish from a previous guest; dirty windows.
It’s at that tipping point that a lot of hotels reach. Not enough money coming in to maintain standards so the assets that is the hotel begins to lose value. Customers book in less frequently and so it goes.
I hope my fave hotel finds its stride again.
View of St Kilda was great and quite close to the parklands. Dining options and transport was quite accessible also. Fairly noisy on the balcony and you look straight into other apartments.
