The Space:

Ironbark Lane by Tiny Away is a secluded tiny house in the peaceful locality of Millstream, Queensland, just 50 minutes from Atherton. Surrounded by young ironbark trees and open skies, it's set on a working regenerative farm where every stay offers a unique countryside escape while helping restore the land.



Watch finches dart between branches or spot owls and eagles on the hunt. Nearby, explore Millaa Millaa Falls, Millstream Falls, Innot Hot Springs, Lake Eacham, and Windy Hill Wind Farm. Evenings bring glowing sunsets, misty rains, or a dazzling Milky Way sky, each one setting the scene for simple fireside meals and fresh-air living.



The 139-square-foot tiny home includes water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking gear, and a private bathroom with a gas-heated shower, hand basin, and eco-friendly cassette toilet.



IMPORTANT NOTE: There are two holiday homes on the property. If you’re booking for a group, we have "Ironbark Lane 1 and Ironbark Lane 2" available with 24 hours' notice.



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the tiny house and the surrounding outdoor area. Access from the highway is simple, leading to a fenced 15-acre property with peaceful horse trails to wander and explore.



For everyone’s safety, please stay within the fenced area and do not go beyond the locked livestock gate. Horses may wander close; feel free to pat or brush them, but please don’t feed or climb the fence.



Enjoy photographing the wildlife that shares the land, but avoid touching or feeding them. To protect the local ecosystem, dogs are not permitted on the property.



The Neighborhood:

Ironbark Lane by Tiny Away is in Millstream, about 50 minutes from Atherton, surrounded by national parks, farmland, and open bushland. The region is part of Queensland’s Atherton Tablelands, known for its mix of rainforest, savannah, and volcanic landscapes.



Just a short drive away, you'll find plenty of local cafés, bakeries, pubs, and casual dining spots serving everything from hearty breakfasts and classic Australian meals to organic fare and gourmet pizzas. For everyday essentials, nearby Ravenshoe has supermarkets, a butcher, bakery, pharmacy, hardware store, banks, and locally owned gift shops.



When it's time to explore, visit Millstream Falls National Park, home to Australia's widest single-drop waterfall, or unwind in the naturally heated pools at Innot Hot Springs. Beyond that, the Atherton Tablelands offers scenic drives through rainforests, waterfalls, volcanic lakes, and lookouts, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, swimming, and wildlife spotting.



If you're visiting during festival season, don't miss local favourites like the Mt Garnet Rodeo, Mt Garnet Car Show, and the Nyx Music Festival, which bring the region to life with live music, art, food, and community events.



Getting Around:

By Car:



- Ironbark Lane by Tiny Away is located in Millstream, about 50 minutes from Atherton and 15 minutes (15 km) from the town of Ravenshoe.

- From Cairns International Airport, the drive is approximately 2 hours (129 km).

- The property is accessible by 2WD, AWD, and 4WD vehicles.



By Public Transport:



Bus Service: The TransNorth bus operates between Cairns and Karumba, with stops in towns along the route.

- The closest stop to Ironbark Lane is Ravenshoe.

- We can arrange pick-up from Ravenshoe on request.



Fares:



- Adult one-way fare (Cairns → Ravenshoe): $44.80

- Concession (students, pensioners, seniors): 15% off

- Children (ages 3–5): 20% off

- Infants (0–2 years): One travels free on a guardian’s lap; a second is charged 50% of the full fare



Schedule:



To Ravenshoe / Karumba: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

To Cairns: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday



Other Things to Note:

- Wifi is not available

- No pets are allowed

- Gas BBQ grill is available

- The property is suitable for kids

- Smoking is permitted outside the tiny house

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Please note that more extended stays or late check-outs will incur an extra charge

- Please ensure cigarette butts are properly disposed of in the designated bins outside the tiny house

- Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone offer strong mobile coverage, while other networks may have no signal in the area.



Important note:



- For stays of 5 nights or more (or for bookings of 5 nights or more), an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.

- Please use only the purchased firewood, as the sticks and logs found on the property are helping to enrich the soil and provide habitat for wildlife. The firewood available for purchase has been sustainably sourced.

- Guests will enjoy your own private space but we are always happy to chat with you.

Ironbark Lane by Tiny Away offers its guests barbecue grills and a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.
