Spend the extra $ to stay elsewhere

I was in room 123. Firstly, They were doing work on the walls when I got there. And they were there when I checked in and checked out. The fella working was on the phone or talking to someone loudly the entire time, which I could hear in my room. Then they had kids on the upper floor (should always put kids on the bottom floor to contain the noise) running up and down the halls and yelling. Then, at 9pm until the next morning when I checked out, next to me (my room was a connecting room) was a female talking all night long. I figured probably people using drugs. I barely got any sleep and considered going to a different hotel. The room was falling apart. There was a 12” x 24” white stain on the floor. The furniture was peeling apart. Burn marks on the footstool. I did not have a good stay. The best part was that the staff was polite and friendly. Especially the lady who was working breakfast. I am considering asking hotels.com for a refund. So if I were you? I’d spring the extra 10-20$ for the Sheraton. That’s what I should’ve done. But the Hampton had decent reviews. So I went off of them.

We arrived at the property expecting a room to accommodate 5 guests comfortably. We then got told that the hotel does not have any rooms that can accommodate 5 guests. We ended up having to pay for an extra room just so we can get a comfortable stay. The front desk guy was unwilling to help accommodate nor was the manager who said he would help did anything to go the extra mile for us. Overall, the property or location or whatever else didn’t matter, as the service staff were extremely unhelpful and non caring.

Great breakfast and helpful staff. Under construction and it wasn't clear if our room has been completed or if there were plans to finish the wall paper edges and attend to the peeling laminate on the TV stand. Still, it was reasonably priced, in a great location, and allowances for renovations in progress.

Good for a night

Good stay for a night or two but no longer than that. The caster wheels on the desk chair in my room was falling apart. The paneling on the furniture is peeling off the tables. The water in the shower drain was very slow. The curtain blinds had rips in them. Rooms don't have clocks for waking up. The vending machine room only has ice. Snacks and drinks can be bought by the front counter. The bed and room was kept fairly clean.

Terrible renovation noises at 7AM!

My recent stay was terrible! I stayed in room 220 from 1/1/2025 to 1/2/2025. There was renovation on the 3rd floor, with no notification on the website, at check-in, or in the room like other hotels do. Not even an in-room memo. Loud and pounding noise from the 3rd floor and directly above my room started at 7am, waking me and my young child from a decent night's sleep on the Hampton Inn bed, which we paid for. I understand there are times when part of the hotel needs to be closed and remodeled to refresh future guest stays. However, you have to let the guests know either prior to booking, so they can make an informed decision, or through an in-room paper memo so there could be a possibility to be moved to the 1st floor. I mentioned this to the front desk staff at checkout since the loud and pounding renovation noise started at 7am, well before checkout. The desk clerk shrugged and gave a faint apology, saying it was out of their control. Well, what is in my control is that in the future, as a two-time Hampton Inn guest, you will no longer earn my business.

To be fair I stay here once in a while and have always been pleased. On this occasion there were a couple of missteps. Upon checking in I learned that there was remodeling done on the top floor. Not ideal but ok. But the banging lasted well past business hours and commenced by 7 am. Too early for all the noise in my opinion. Had I known ahead of time I may have stayed somewhere else this time. Our first room was not cleaned. I believe an oversight as the front desk was surprised and apologetic. No issue they gave us a different room. The biggest disappointment was that the bathtub was missing its stopper. My daughter who has health issues was so looking forward to soaking in the tub. The lady at the front desk again was apologetic but said there was nothing she could do but inform maintenance. So this stay was a miss.
