Nice place to stay in Missoula

Good location - 10 min walk from Higgins or UMT. There is a railway just beside with train horns going off at all hours though - the hotel provides free earplugs. It didn't wake me up personally. Friendly staff, renovated rooms with just a few missing touches. Hot breakfast with eggs, potatoes and sausage included which was nice

There is a train that goes by every night in the middle of the night two or three times and sounds the horn. Definitely not quiet.

When we walked into the room it smelled strongly like mildew. The carpet was gritty and felt very dirty when walking on it. The bathroom didn't feel clean. The floors above us squeaked and we could here people talking, and walking across the floor until 2:30am. We will not be staying again. This motel really needs some work done. The price was Very high for what we got.

I'm sure there are worse places

Breakfast was not great, but there are hot and cold options. Dining area is an old sandwich shop adjoined to the hotel and tight seating. Gravy seemed like it was reheated several days. Pillows on the bed were thin and not supportive; had to ask for additional. Housekeeping (towel replenishment and trash pickup at a minimum) is nonexistent. You have to request it but this is not advertised. No iron in the room. You have to request it but this is not advertised. The room did not smell fresh. At all. Shower takes about 4-5 minutes to heat to temperature. Don't drink the tap water. Downtown in the title does NOT mean it is downtown where all the cool stuff is. Parking is limited and you may pull into the McDonald's drive-through while backing out of a space.

Fabulous stay in Missoula

We were in town for a 50th reunion. I don't think we could have found a better place to stay. Jay, at the front counter was super friendly and most helpful. The lady in the kitchen made the very best homemade breakfast: yeast buttermilk biscuits and gravy and burritos - all better than anything we could have found at a restaurant! The location was great too with a simple on and off the freeway, a large grocery store nearby, and walking distance to the U. We will return!

Great location; the staff was nice. That said, the someone had sprayed the "fresh aire" smell, and it overpoweringly just stunk. Not clean, but just of chemicals. The room smelled of wet carpet. The AC was so loud that with ear plugs in, it was like sleeping next to an idling big-rig. Is that why they give ear plugs at check in? (not joking). The burrito at breakfast was so soggy and the meat looked like mystery meat. I know this only costed about 140 dollars and I don't expect a 5 star hotel. But horrible noise? The overpowering smell? Run away.
