Awful breakfast but room okay

Room was ok, reception staff were friendly and showed us to our room. Breakfast was awful took an hour and a half to be given a menu and then had to remind the guy to take our order and everyone around us said the food was awful and we are wasting our time so we went elsewhere

Horrendous

This was booked for 3 of my colleagues, on arriving to the first the bed collapsed when a bag was put on it, the room was changed only to then have the shower spray water all over the bathroom and into the main room. Next room didnt even have a wardrobe just plastic hooks on tge wall that couldn't even hold the weight of a T-shirt. Turn out the hotel is also being used as a bail hostel.

Pleasant stay, room was spacious and comfortable, windows didnt open which as well as making the room stuffy seems unsafe in the event of fire. Quiet, lovely surroundings.

Little out of the way and didn't have a hotel feel

Hotel was shortstaffed but they tried to assist us where possible. Was sure that I had booked to include breakfast but the remote support said that I hadn't - assistant manager sorted that out in the morning. Decor was old but the room turned out to be comfortable.

Disappointing visit

The main problem was the poor choice and quality of the breakfast. On the first morning, the alternative breakfast was missing the advertised yoghurts and pastries. There were no mushrooms or tomatoes with the cooked breakfast, although these items were supposedly included. There was no choice of bread, most of the tables were half set and the general quality of the food was poor. On the second morning, there were no tomatoes or mushrooms but this time, no eggs either. This left no choice of cooked breakfast at all. Generally the hotel seemed tired and run down. The chef worked hard and tried his best but nothing he did could make up for the general delapidation.

The big negatives first. I booked a classic room, paid extra for it. Arrived at the hotel and was taken to.... A normal room. The receptionist didn't bother to tell us we'd been downgraded, and when the difference in price was mentioned....this was completely ignored. She tried fobbing us off saying it's the same kind of room, despite making one as a classic room with 4 poster and the other as a standard king size room. Id paid for the 4 poster classic room not a normal one. It turns out that no one had cleaned the classic room. Had dirty bedding and towels etc. So had a downgrade and they chose to ignore the extra money I'd paid. Bit fraudulent really. The room we ended up with was ok, if I'd booked that room then I would have been pleased with it. Location is beautiful, breakfast was lovely. But the rip off and fob off will be the main memory.

Good overnight stay

Comfortable stay, pleasant location. Room clean and had everything needed for our one night stay. Unfortunately no bar or restaurant at present but a communal room with fridge and microwave available if needed.

Reception staff seemed glued to their seat giving us the key which was simply placed on the desk. We asked if breakfast was available she simply said NO and carried on doing whatever. Bathroom in room was too cramped.

There was no food available due to refurbishment of the kitchen but a staff member Toni took me in her car to the nearest Chinese takeaway - a service above and beyond the call of duty. Very helpful friendly staff. The hotel is not actually in the town of Mold as I thought but in Northop, a few miles outside.

Reception was not good. Not a lot of information forthcoming. This stay made me think that I was going to be one of the last guests as they were closing down.
