I recently flew in from Edmonton to Toronto for a meeting and decided to stay at this hotel. My meeting finished earlier than expected, so I went to check in before the standard 3 PM time. To my surprise, the front desk staff told me I would be charged by the hour if I wanted to check in early.
I found this disappointing, especially since the room was already going to be mine from 3 PM onward. As a Hilton member, I expected more flexibility and customer care. Most hotels I’ve stayed at try to accommodate early check-ins when possible, especially for loyalty members.
While the hotel itself may have its strengths, the lack of consideration and the unnecessary extra charge for an early check-in left me with a negative impression. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as hospitality should be about making guests feel welcomed, not nickel-and-dimed.
