Nice place close to town

Only thing I can complain about is the showerheads were made for somebody that’s about 5 foot two. So if you’re any taller than that, it’s very difficult to shower and the shower stall is built probably in 1950.

Location could not be better, in central Carmel but away from the busy streets and few minutes walk to restaurants and shopping. Hotel was basic but clean and staff was very helpful.

Beautiful sunset view

Hofsa House is really nice. We had an ocean view room and were able to watch the beautiful sunset from the balcony! The only problem was the fact that the walls a very thin and the guests in the next room were very loud late into the night.

Very nice, very “Carmel”

Very comfortable bed, nice and quiet, easy walk into town. Amazing view of the ocean. The double Dutch doors are a great touch.

The facility is very dated, pet stains on the carpet, a small TV that seemed like the brightness was turned down and no way to adjust, hot and cold water for the shower reversed, a generator type buzzing that never stopped even at night that kept us up and a disappointing “breakfast” that was a few muffins and fruit. Staff was all very nice and the location is great but that won’t get us back…
