The Springs Resort and Spa at Arenal offers 74 air-conditioned accommodations, which are accessible via exterior corridors, and features iPod docking stations and DVD players. This has to be the nicest resort I have ever stayed at! The time of year we were there (early May) wasn't busy at all so we had no trouble finding a hot springs pool all for ourselves. There is a LOT of wildlife to see on their huge property. We did a guided nighttime walk with flashlights and we saw sloths, monkeys, frogs, and (gulp) snakes! The food at their restaurants was great! I ordered something different every night but my wife insisted on getting the same "Typical Costa Rican Meal" each and every night because she liked it so much. My rental car picked up a nail in the tire during the drive there (WARNING: it was three hour drive for us from San Jose) and the Valet re-inflated the tire and gave me directions to a local tire shop to get it repaired (for five bucks - what a deal!). We really want to come back to the Springs again some day!

Staff was great and hotel was beautiful. Food was good but could be better. Because we traveled during the holiday busy week, it took us an hr to get to downtown la Fortuna. So, most nights we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. It would be nice if things stayed open later like the hot springs and kids club, etc. But the service was exceptional. Free laundry machines to wash your clothes and shoe dryer was a bonus!

The restaurants were not open at all times and being that were far from town need more food options a dining options so we can enjoy at diff venues. Cost of food was a bit expensive and with kids it adds up so maybe a discounted pizza bar and ice cream bar for kids to eat so available at all hours and easier for parents. Lovely views and staff experiences.

The property was everything you could have hoped for in a Costa Rican jungle. The pools were great! The drinks at the pool bar were amazing. I highly recommend the Tamarindo Margharita. One of the highlights was the Night Guided Walk. Our guide on April 6th was fantastic. He was so excited and knowledgable. He was the best!

Loved it. I only regret that instead of staying here the whole week we went to Westin. I think we’ll come back again. So many things to do there. We didn’t get lucky with the weather because it was raining every day but still we really enjoyed our time at the Springs.
