The room was beautiful. Very clean and great location. Only complaint was the jacuzzi tub (which was also beautiful) was broken and it randomly turned on in the night. We had to unplug the tub to get it to stop. Other then that it was a great hotel

Although check in was terrible, the stay was nice; As this was our 4th stay at HPdA, and we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we were met with a terible check in, that almost left my wife in tears The desk clerk was adiment that are debit card was not a credit card (it's both) and stated without a credit card, we couldnt check in. We expressed that we booked this trip while ago and used our debit credit card to book the trip. Although very nice, he would not let us check in. After half an hour of wrangling they finally said, that they could take $1,000 from our checking account and hold it until we left, which we were happy to do. But during this time I explained again that our debit card was also a MasterCard and he finally ran it through. SUCCESS! The desk clerk was very cordial, polite and helpful and was probably only following corporate rules. Everything thereafter ran wonderful and we had a great trip, again. It just would have been very helpful for Expedia or the hotel Palace de Armes to clearly state that a credit card only, is required for check in.
