The loft was very nice. It was very spacious and clean. We only have 2 recommendations: the stairs from the bedroom to the living room need better lighting. Getting up during the night was a little scary with the lack of lighting on the stairs. Also the rug in the living room is rolling up on the edges and we both tripped over it several times. Otherwise everything was great. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

The Lofts du Vieux-Port are 2 blocks away from the Auberge du Vieux Port (it has a rooftop bar with a lovely view of the waterfront) which is where you check in. Staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful, including help carrying luggage to our rooms and booking a cab to take our party to the train station when we departed. Our room was a studio apartment w/ a small kitchenette. The accommodations were wonderful - clean; bed was quite comfortable; bathroom clean with a wonderful shower(!). Location is excellent, heart of Old Montreal and walking distance to restaurants, waterfront, museums and other sites (including shopping if that is your thing - not ours!).

Great location right in heart of Old Montreal. Great dining options all around. Green space both by the water and up the street for your dog. Tons of walking trails. Wonderful loft with comfortable king sized bed. Awesome shower. Big screen tv. Great view of the streets below. Across from great Italian coffee house Olympia Cafe. Wonderful !!

Stairway to marshmallow heaven.

Even though we knew there would be steps… we did not bargain for 57 of them to our loft. We read that the floors were creaky and the walls thin… that is an understatement. The loft was not overly clean and the bed was a marshmallow… very soft. Our tv was a problem with multiple visits from handyman. I must say the staff was very friendly. This should come as no surprise, other guests support these claims. Response from hotel said they would try and look into these issues… guess they are not concerned with guests comfort. Bottled water in room would have been welcomed after all those steps!

Even if it is located in the heart of Old Montreal, we would not rent there again because parking is impossible and traffic is terrible. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who has a car.

Great loft - LOTS OF STAIRS

We loved the loft. We were on the top floor in the back of the building so it was not loud. Tons of space, recently renovated, very comfortable bed, amazing shower. The old wooden floor looks great, but creaks A LOT when you walk around (wouldn't want to be on lower floors and listen to all that!). All the stairs to walk up to the top floor are a workout - this should be stated more clearly (and that there is NO elevator!). We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

From the minute we pulled in to the valet parking space in front of the hotel, we were treated so kindly and well! We stayed at the Auberge 25 years ago, and this time at the Lofts, and it far exceeded even our great expectations. The room was beautiful and large, the shower amazing, great little kitchen (even though we chose to go to all three of the houses hotel restaurants for breakfast, dinner and drinks.) The old port is so vibrant and fun, perfect jumping off point for our sunset boat cruise and nearby waterfront spa, Bota Bota. Can’t wait to come again! Such the perfect Montreal weekend.

We checked into their main hotel which is Auberge Du Vieux-Port. The Porter from this hotel then takes your bags and walks you one block up to the "Lofts" building. This property has lots of charm and history. The old wood beams and the thick stone walls added to this fun experience. The Loft we stayed in is located on the 2nd floor and we did not have a problem with the street noise or the constant movement of people. To me it was a beautiful view from our windows people watching, and looking at the other old buildings in the area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you would require to cook any meal there. If you don't feel like cooking all of their restaurants had great meals with lots of options to choose from. The washroom has a beautiful rain shower head that was perfect after a lot of walking to relax in. We were located one block north of Rue St. Paul which is a hub of pedestrian traffic. Everything was centrally located for us. Bleze L the front desk supervisor made sure to answer all our questions and concerns. I would highly recommend the Lofts or the Auberge Du Vieux-Port to anyone looking for romance, Central location in historic old Montreal.

The loft itself was nice, much as pictured on the website, and the staff were very helpful. Several things were not working when we arrived, so the first impression wasn’t great, but they were quickly fixed. The bed was much too soft, way beyond the normal range for hotel mattresses, which made it uncomfortable and we slept poorly. If you prefer a firmer mattress, avoid this location. Finally, be aware that the Old Port area is very lively and touristy: lots of cheap souvenirs and partying, and the streets can get very crowded. Not the hotel/loft’s fault, but it’s really in a party zone and the restaurant beneath the lofts was loud (including a lot of furniture-moving) into the night. The lofts looked nice and the staff were excellent when we needed them, but we did not have a relaxing break.
